LOUISIANA FOLKLIFE VILLAGE

The Louisiana Folklife Village consists of four themed tents: Made By Hand-Crafts of Everyday Life, The Work of Many Lives-Waterways of Louisiana, Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler-Ritual & Celebration in Louisiana, and The Work of Many Lives-Architectural Trades. Tradition bearers and master artisans from all over the state are invited to the Folklife Village to demonstrate their craft and interact with Festival-goers. Many of these artisans are state and nationally recognized for their cultural contributions to their craft and the State of Louisiana.

This year, as a celebration of the cultural link between New Orleans and Haiti, the Cultural Crossroads tent will be featured on the first weekend. Exciting panel discussions will be held at the Folklife Village three times daily - check the 2011 Folklife Village Participants: 1st Weekend for the schedule and topics to be discussed.
