New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival

The Grand Marshal VIP Pass

A very limited number of Jazz Fest fans can upgrade their Festival experience to a pass that allows exclusive access to an upfront, golden circle viewing environment at the Festival’s three main stages:  The Acura Stage, The Gentilly Stage, and The Congo Square/ “My Louisiana” Stage.

The Grand Marshal VIP Pass is designed for the Festivalgoer who wants the luxury of moving from stage to stage, combined with the thrill of seeing Jazz Fest’s world-class performers up close.  Grand Marshal VIP ticketholders in 2009 can enjoy front-stage viewing privileges to see artists such as

1st Weekend Artists (April 24, 25, 26)
Wynton Marsalis, Dave Matthews Band, James Taylor, Joe Cocker, Earth, Wind and Fire, Wilco, Erykah Badu, Spoon, Third World, Irma Thomas, Etta James, Robert Cray, Pete Seeger, Kinky, Drive-By Truckers feat. Booker T. Jones, Better Than Ezra, plus many more.

Grand Marshal VIP Passes were hugely popular at the 2008 Festival selling out in the first year of offering.  As the number of VIP passes sold is very limited, interested patrons are encouraged to purchase their Grand Marshal VIP Passes early to avoid being shut out.

The Grand Marshal VIP Pass is sold by specific weekend and includes re-entry privileges (pedestrian only). A very limited number of Grand Marshal packages that include reserved parking are available.

1st Weekend (April 24, 25, 26) three full Festival days
$550; or $700 with daily reserved parking

2nd Weekend (April 30, May 1, 2, 3) four full Festival days
$600; or $800 with daily reserved parking

Note:  Grand Marshal VIP ticketholders are part of an exclusive, up-close, standing-room only club of Festivalgoers.  The stage-area pass does not allow the holder to camp out or to reserve space in the special viewing areas, all of which are chair-free zones.  A festive flow of Grand Marshal patrons between performances throughout the day is part of the ethos of this priceless Jazz Fest experience.  In addition, cameras with detachable lenses may not be used in this area, and from time to time, picture taking of any kind may not be allowed.

A Grand Marshal ticket is required for all children over the age of 2 to access the Grand Marshal viewing areas.
