Nowhere else will you come across such matchless cuisine as found at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. The Food Fair offers classic New Orleans staples and over time has expanded to include Creole and Cajun offerings as well as international cuisine

The dizzying array of choices extends beyond pot-cooked favorites such as Creole filé gumbo, collard greens, crowder peas and okra, shrimp and sausage macque choux and two styles of jambalaya to New Orleans’ famous po-boy sandwiches stuffed with anything from fried local oysters to spicy Cajun roasted duck. Savories include Creole hot tamales, stuffed artichokes, shrimp cocktail, and crawfish spinach and zucchini bisque. Don’t forget to try such highly portable crowd pleasers as fried pork chop sandwich, turkey giardinera po-boy, boudin balls, fried ‘gator with onions and jalapenos and cracklins. Indulge your sweet tooth with Roman chewing candy, peach cobbler, red velvet cake, sweet potato pie, traditional pralines, cannoli or Louisiana strawberry ice. Look also for the return of our popular child friendly menu in the kid’s area.

In addition to the many fine foods offered, there are two cooking stages at the Grandstand demonstrating our rich culinary history, and offering samples of signature dishes from local chefs, fishermen, and home cooks.
