Food Heritage Stage 2016

As Jazz Fest marks its 47th year, the Food Heritage and Cajun Cabin Stages again bring a variety of chefs and cooks to demonstrate Louisiana’s culinary traditions. From fresh gulf seafood to the wealth of wild fish and game found here in the Sportsman’s Paradise, this year’s demonstrations reflect the rich flavor of the state. We also celebrate the abundant multi-cultural influences on our modern day foodways.

The 2016 Food Heritage Stage features five chef tributes to Chef Paul Prudhomme who was, and still is, a driving force on our local cuisine and chefs.

Mr. Okra, New Orleans last singing street vendor will join us once again near the Jazz and Heritage Stage on the second festival weekend.

This year we dedicate our efforts to the memories of “Mr.” Charley Jones, Dwight LaBran and Warren “Running Bear” Moore.

Special thanks to Marty Cosgrove at K-Paul’s Louisiana Kitchen for the images and the assistance.
