Thumbs up Canajun Redneck?

Hey, all you Canajun threadheads, I had the pleasure of seeing one of your countrymen here in RI last weekend - Fred Eaglesmith, what a hoot! My first time seeing him, I really enjoyed the show, as much for the comedy as the songs. He was so funny - almost like a Larry the Cable Guy from Canada. He had a rocking little combo with him, too. and between laughter and grooving to the rhythms he even made me cry with a sentimental song about his dad. What a night, it was all over the map, really unexpected, I thought he was just a normal folksinger. I love when that happens!

Ah, you are now a Fredhead! Cool that you got to see him. I've only seen Fred a couple of times but have friends who are fanatics and have gone on his train excursion (jamming all the way) each year. I just love Willie P Bennett, his mando player, as I semi-noodle around on one myself. Fred used to play a small town south of Calgary at a party called The Big Hair Do. (Fred has a famous song "My Baby Got Big Hair".) One year we all went to the hairdressed and got our hair massively teased and sprayed to the point where we nearly couldn't get our heads into the car without crushing the top of our dos. Unfortunately no one had a digital cam so all we have are polaroids. Man, that was some night!
