will you just hurry up and move there and start the threadhead division of the New Orleans Tourism Office?

Peace out - and thanks for all of the tidbits that come from your pandora's box of Nola info

Satchmo SummerFest...8/2-8/5....
"What a Wonderful World" you'll discover during an entertaining and educating weekend in the French Quarter honoring New Orleans' native son, Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong. The Satchmo-inspired program includes musical performances, lively discussions, jazz exhibits, a jazz mass, activities for budding young jazz fans, a club crawl, "red beans and ricely yours" foods, and a star-studded line-up of performances that would have made Louis smile.

Thanks for the tip, Swag.

For a three night stay during Satchmo, the Whitney is offering that $49 rate; the Bourbon Orleans, $64. Both are great deals for those particular properties.

I wasn't planning on staying at either one, but I may pull the trigger on Bourbon Orleans. (I'm going to investigate a little more; Hotwire has some good deals for that period, too...)
