Default A Question About Priceline

When you go on their site, and look for a hotel deal (without "naming your own price"), you are presented with a grid, listing the bottom price all of the properties within the same geographic area & star rating. You can click on a price and see all of the hotels within that area and star ratings, and how much it would cost per night for each one.

Then, right there on the page, they have a "save up to 50% and name your own price" link, which takes you to their bidding mechanism.

My question is, if you bid on an area and star level, will they offer that bid only to the hotels that were listed on the previous page?

If so, you can really narrrow down the possibilities.

Or do they go outside that set of properties and present your offer to other hotels?

Totally separate lists, but with a few overlaps. Some hotels don't participate in the "shop and compare" and some don't put up "name your price" rates. Good Priceline info and tips are at betterbidding.com and biddingfortravel.com. I know that the old Monaco hotel is set to reopen as aHilton on May 1, and this may be useful to those needing second weekend. Also see the Ambassador for $53 for days in between, on "shop & compare", a good deal with the $25 cancel terms, but no pool there.

Pool? Just give me a safe place with a clean bed, a shower and a place to park my car. Did I forget to mention CHEAP? Fest vet looking for accomodations that'll make it possible for me to come back this year.

water angel, if you're willing to share a room, there are 3 people on this board with rooms looking to share. just look through the next several pages to find the threads or search room share above. Good luck.
