Blue-eyed soul icon Bobby Hatfield, one-half of the Righteous Brothers, died in 2003. He was 63.

Joe Cocker had his only number 1 hit in the U.S. in 1982 with a little help from a friend. Jennifer Warnes duetted with Cocker on the love theme from An Officer and a Gentleman, “Up Where We Belong.”



John Philip Sousa was born on this day in 1854.He wrote the most famous American military marches of all time, including "Stars and Stripes Forever," earning him the nickname "the March King"; he was also known as a great bandleader, and organized the famed concert and military group, Sousa's Band. He died in 1932.

Dr. Tommy Comeaux, a longtime fixture on the New Orleans music scene, died in 1997 when he was struck by a car while riding his bicycle. He was 45.

Yep, now that we have almost every day covered, all anyone has to do is go back to the beginning of the thread and add a year to everyone's age. I guess we could quote it everyday. I'm sorry that the P.O. made it harder for me to contribute.
