Wink Not music, but important history for January 5th

Aaron "Bunny" Lapin
Born 5 Jan 1914; died 10 Jul 1999

Inventor who put whipped cream in a spray can and called it Reddi-Wip (1948), turning a dessert topping into a symbol of postwar America's drive for convenience. First sold by St. Louis milkmen, its distribution expanded quickly across N. America, and Lapin was soon dubbed the Whipped Cream King. In 1998, Time magazine listed Reddi-wip as one of the century's 100 great things for consumers, along with the pop-top can and Spam. Lapin's Clayton Corp. also made its own valves for the can. Clayton and its subsidiaries make industrial valves and closures, caulk, adhesives and foamed plastic products such as insulation and cushioning materials. Reddi-Wip is now a brand of ConAgra's Beatrice Foods.

Let the fun begin!
