As part of the Twin Cities Jazz Festival, Allen Toussaint played outside at Mears Park, in the Lowertown neighborhood (part of downtown St. Paul). Wonderful set, and lots of folks there to hear him.

Cool - thanks for posting the pix. We were also at this concert, (I started another thread here before I saw yours). We were very close to the front, at the first row of tables - sweet that they had tables and chairs set up. Did you get to see Esperanza Spalding on Sat. night? We are from Duluth, so we just went to the Friday show. It was great that it rained just between sets, and stopped before Allen's. Helped to cool things off nicely. What a nice park, with the creek/stepping stones and flowers - nice mention of it by Allen, too, in his opening comments, I really liked what he said about being able to tell that it was a place that people cared about.

Great photos - I love the reflection on the piano, and the black & white. Nice shots of Irv Williams, too, as well as your many other great photos there (the sousaphone with the reflection, too - like the piano one). Thanks for sharing them here.

Nice to stumble onto these photos! I was there too and our pictures were no where near this great and no where near this close.
