hello all,

I'm trying to find the name of an artist from jazzfest about 3 years ago. bear with me as my memory is somewhat hazy about the details. I saw a painting with a list of "table manners." it was similar in style to a simone, but with drawings of kitchen objects incorporated into the painting. I'm pretty sure it was a local new orleans artist. I used to have the postcard, but have since lost it during a move. hopefully I've given enough details to get me in the right direction. thanks for your help.

Assuming the artist was listed at Contemporary Crafts or Congo Square, you can read through a listing of exhibitors if you find an official program from that year. Do you remember what year it was? If you can't get access to one from someone on the board, you can purchase the old programs. They are published by Where magazine in New Orleans and I believe their office is on Wilkinson Row in the Quarter.

thanks for the help. it was either 2006 or 2007. and I'm leaning more towards 2007. the artist was in the contemporary crafts section. it's is "where - new orleans" that has past years programs with vendor information? if there is anyone with a program from 2006 or 2007 please let me know. I don't need the program, just the listing of artists from those years. thanks

Rosetree may have your answer as he is an artist in Contemporary crafts for a least a decade or more. He will check in for sure.

I have read the thread, and I am stumped. It could have been someone who was in CC on the other weekend that I was in.....I'll keep thinking;)

BTW Belle....not to toot my own horn (or blow my own balls), 28 years in CC :D and still going strong!

I do have the listings from the past few years, but not here. If you don't have your answer by Tuesday, I'll send you the listings when I get in to my studio.

Here's the 2007 website. The main dropdown menus work, you can see the Contemporary Craft artist listings for each weekend (pictures are unavailable, thought).

I looked for the '06 craft listings on the archive, but no luck.

swag...I tried the url that you posted and got this:

Not in Archive.

No archived versions of the page you requested are available. If the page is still available on the Internet, we will begin archiving it during our next crawl.

....am I doing something wrong?

Sorry, between the frame design and the archive behavior, it's hard to deep link to the correct page. Anyway, above the "not in archive" message is a fully functioning web site menu. Mouse over "food & crafts" and select the artist listing you want to see.

belle, rosetree, and swag,

thanks for the quick responses to my post. after looking at the list of artists from 2007, I'm starting to think that I saw this artist at the bayou boogaloo in '07. sorry for the inconvenience, but I really appreciate the quick and good responses. I guess that's the problem with being a former fanatical fest-goer!!! (I have a 15 month old now and took him to his first jazzfest this year)

rosetree, are you familiar with any of the artists out at the boogaloo? 2007?

I went there last year but I don't know many of the artists out there. Have you tried the artists at the Arts Market at Palmer Park? I think that there is some cross-over between those two shows. They show on the last Saturday of the month....here is a list----
