Greetings Threadheads!
Anybody plan on attending Tab Benoit's VOW Festival in Houma, LA? 2nd weekend in Oct.
It was great finally meet a bunch of you, already looking forward to next year!

Great to meet you, too! Probably going to miss VOW, but it's still a few months off, so you never know.

I'm trying t put together a road trip to VOW this year for a group of 20 or so. Anybody have any hints or tips?

I believe that's the same weekend as Festival Acadien in Lafayette. We had the same conflict last year. So many fests, so little time...
BG -- Judy is also pulling together a group for that timeframe and hopes to stay on through the following weekend for Crescent City Blues Fest. There will be lots of Krewe around LA in October.

I went to the last day of it last year and it was really nice. I recommend it. Less than an hour drive from NOLA... Tab was thanking people at the end and, I swear, I think he was crying. It really means a lot to him.

VOW and FA are always the same weekend, so I do one day at each.
As for the Krewe, oh well. I'll have enough to worry about if I can actually pull this off. So far, about 20 people are interested and I just started asking around on Sunday.

I'm a maybe on Sunday! coming in to NOLA for the radiators shows at Tips! I guess that all depends on whether we visit the Snake & Jakes after the show on Sat. nite. You might want to check out the shows at Tipitina's ~

My husband (Eric) and I will be going. We also plan to go see Jon Cleary at d.b.a. Thursday night before VOW. We're still toying with the idea of going to see Paul, Susan, & Russ at Chickie Wah Wah on the 9th. But, we can't be in two places at once; I'm not sure which band will win...
We'll wear Threadhead t-shirts at least one of the days at the festival.

Sunday sounds doable, too. I'm still trying to squeeze in one day of Festivals Acadiens, but I guess that may be asking too much.

just got an email from a friend to remind me it's also gentilly fest, and paul sanchez is playing chickie wah wah!
I was also thinking of Festivals Acadiens, but that would really be pushing it!
I guess I should dig out a radiators shirt too... "too stupid to stop"!!!

We are thinking about going tomorrow, weather permitting. If y'all need more Rads, they are playing at 5 at VOW, right before the All-Stars. The VOW website was not updated with a perfomance schedule, but their myspace page was:
