Has there been an announcement yet from Ingrid? With ticket info?

I am not aware of it. I'm not in touch with her, but others on this board (I think Amy, for example) are. Perhaps someone who knows her can call or email her to ask about this?

It's much like the threadhead patry from what I hear. It's held in Ingrid Lucia's backyard. I'm sure many others hear will tell you first hand how cool it is.

I went last year, papins, and it was big fun. Ingrid Lucia hosted a party in her backyard in mid-city on Wednesday between JF weekends, about 5-10 pm. Had a couple kegs of beer, and 5-6 different musical acts, including of course her own band. It was REAL NEW ORLEANS, and being there in a neighborhood that had 4 feet of water and not many homes occupied at that time, it was really special!
If you're not familar with her music, see www.ingridlucia.com (http://www.ingridlucia.com). And be sure to check out the video she & Irvin Mayfield did to promote New Orleans. It'll really get you in the jazzfest mood!

Was planning on seeing Marcia Ball playing in the Square Wed. (kinda a tradition now) then heading over to the bash.... what to do now?

It was great fun last year. And so many of you were there that I didn't meet. During one of the band changes, I thought about grabbing the microphone and announcing, "Will all the Threadheads please raise your hand and introduce yourself." I should have done it. Not enough Abita in me, I guess.

You'd probably get a response if you did that at ANY venue you go to during JF. :D

We need to rectify that. Maybe the TH's need a secret handshake or something. The meet-ups are great, but we're all probably bumping into eachother at various venues and never realizing that we're kindred spirits.

Pap, tickets are available from her website closer to fest & the Canal St streetcar passes within 2 blks of her place.
(We had no prob buying tix at the gate last year.)

Last year, tickets at the door were plentiful, and I seem to recall inexpensive - like $20ish (???) including food (not that great) and beer. We bought ours via paypal on her website. As for getting there, the Canal streetcar stops less than half a block down the street. When Ingrid puts up an announcment up on her website, I'm sure there will be ticket info. Also she checked in here on the bored a couple times before the event last year.

I thought the Iguanas might be playing at Ingrid's (on the Iguanas website, they show "private party" that night). But they weren't in the list of acts I saw...maybe they will still be added? anyone with connections to the Iguanas?

Last year, there were some lines for food and for the port-o-lets. If you know you're going, I'd suggest getting advance tickets as a courtesy to the hosts, so they can better plan for the size of the crowd.

I cannot imagine how I can cram another thing in the VW and Virgin calendar, but the lineup sounds so great that I just might try. I have not seen Jeff and Vida despite the glowing reviews TH's give them. I'd love to see Ingrid, and Anders is a fave!

I know VW, Wednesday is the night we PROMISED we would just chill, not do any shows or anything. My first group leaves Wednesday at 3:00 and my next set of virgins come in Thursday. So that was rest day. BUT....it is done around 11 no?

I don't think any info has been given yet. Last year, it was very informal -- you just sent an e-mail to put your name on the list and paid when you got there. I think it was $10, but can't remember for sure.
They might get more formal about it, but I would be very surprised if they used a ticket agency or anything like that.

Was a great time for kids as well. Mine ran around the entire time with glowstix and such. Don't remember too many folks dancing. As for tickets, I agree -- get them in advance so the hosts know how much booze and grub to order, but don't worry -- I think they'll always let folks in at the door.
Now, if we could only persuade Alex and Kourtney to do something like Chazzfest this year.....

03-01-2007, 09:18 AM
Yep -- Ingrid actually came on the board herself, I do believe. But I think it was also on her website.
Last year, they had a paypal set up for advance tix, but you could also but when you got there. It was "suggested donation" of $10 for entrance alone, or $20 that included food & beer.

any JF virgins? particularly bad if they are NOLA virgins too. and if there are several of them. the 3rd time i'm asked what a muffaletta is i get testy - epscially if it was from the same person all 3 times.
