Pretty tame last night. It was cold, so everyone stayed in; we ate,
drank wine, ate, supplementalized, ate and laughed until my face hurt.
We're fixin to drive over to Gulfport to fetch The Potters, too windy to
fly. :( But it looks like it will be a beautiful day.
I think today's itinerary includes:
11am - 12n Port o call for lunch
12n - 2pm mask market, hundreds of mask makers from all over the
world. You can find masks from $2 to $2000
2p - 4pm Wild Maggies in fron of the Presbytere
4p - 9pm Could this be free time? I'm sure someone has something to
plug in here!
9p - ? MG blow-out at Ray's Room
film at 11 ;)

We all got some beautiful masks, I'm sure there'll be pictures, as jhjpotter has taken around 800 so far! ;)
Yesterday was a camp out parade day; 4 parades ending with Bacchus. Everybody caught a ton of stuff, but corona now trumps Carolnbeadhead as Queen Bead Piggy!
Nice day, lots of food, dinks and good friends. Another successful MG day. :)

That sounds like SOOOO much fun!!! We had a dinky-doo Mardi Gras celebration up here in Nevada City this past weekend, culminating with a parade down our main drag yesterday . . . it was okay, but I wanted to be in NOLA with you guys so much that it hurt!
I can hardly wait to see the jillions of pics Mr. Potter has taken!

Sorry I missed most of you. We had a great time though -- highlights included marching in the Bass Parade, Mom's Ball, decorating and marching with Mondo Kayo, Galactic & Morning 40 on Lundi Gras that ended at 7AM, driving the parade route at 5AM and seeing all the ladders and couches set up w/o people, seeing so many fun costumes and so many smiles, a boil, Abita, and daquiries.
More thoughts to come.

It was great -- not at all crowded -- good sight lines -- very wide stage so there was plenty of room for all - about a 15-20 foot gap between the end of the crowd and the bar. As per usual, people crowded up front and dancing in the back.

you're kidding me??? Damn.....it was hellish last year at Mardi Gras. Rebirth and college kids was maybe the reason? I don't know....but that's great news Jordan. Now I feel bad for turning my group off Howling Wolf this year. Sorry guys :(

Now I feel bad for turning my group off Howling Wolf this year. Sorry guys :( I was kinda turned off last year at Fest. I guess i'm just partial to the old howlin wolf with more of a small venue feel. low ceilings, balcony around the stage, hot sweaty, etc. The new wolf is nice. It's big and spacious, and the sightlines are good all over the place. It was pretty crazy packed last year for the New Orleans Allstars show, but the free 2 AM rebirth shows were not even half full, leaving tons of room to dance, etc.
