Raffle Party Redux

Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I had a great time at the raffle party yesterday. We had a nice cloud cover all day which kept the temperature comfortable. While the music was going on, I felt 2 raindrops, but the rain never came and it was a wonderful afternoon. I just love seeing all my friends (old and new) eating, drinking, chatting at a backyard party. Some neighbors even stopped by when they saw (and heard) the sousaphone from their porch across the street. We had Paul Sanchez, Craig Klein and Matt Perrine do a fun set of music & Shamarr Allen sat in on 2 numbers.
It's a great way to catch up with people without the hustle and bustle of fest.
I have to say a HUGE thanks to Gris Gris Mel, who sold raffle tickets allllll afternoon!! (What are the prizes, Mel???) After all was said & done & the money counted (including what folks had stuffed in my pockets for "Fest4Kidz"), the raffle within a raffle raised $615 for Fest4Kidz!
Thanks to Swampie Mary for manning the cd/book table! She sold 43 of Paul's book, 28 of his cds, 7 of Shamarr's cds (that's all he brought) and 6 of Matt's cds (that's all he brought).
Also thanks to all my food elves; Funkjunkkie for taking care of the dessert table, Mrs. Ohio, Ms. Zipcode, Lady Leo and others who made sure food tables were loaded, botles of wine were opened and then cleaned up after. Thanks to Ed, who fried the proscuitto wrapped shrimp for me & Corona for schlepping me drinks all afternoon.
Thanks to anyone I may have left out.
And finally, thank you to all who attended and brought your smiles and your joy and who support all the Threadhead endeavors. You are the Threadhead Nation!!

Jenn, huge thanks to you and David for hosting that great event.

We had a great time, the music was sublime, and the fellowship, the community, the FEELING, was wonderful.

sorry that i missed this yesterday. my flight was delayed a few hours and then i ran into some issues with getting into my condo - keys issue, contacting the lady, etc. all better now but was a tad frustrating yesterday. anyway, glad to hear a good time was had! hopefully i can meet some of y'all during the week:)

Yah! That was a very enjoyable party. So good to take it easy and divulge in the goodness of music and music appreciators. The raffle party is one of my favorite things about Threadheads- it is such a beautiful relationship- everyone giving back to a community that gives so much to them.

I'm sure the winners will get posted soon (if not already... I haven't made it through all the new threads)- anything that was immediate was taken care of by Jeff and Amy but I'm sure they are squeezed for time these days :).

I know the Willie Nelson poster went to a friend of ours in Jackson Hole- Chris Valiante! Other than that- can't help much!

Beautiful people, beautiful weather, great food, and inspiring music ... what a perfect party! I especially enjoyed Shamarr's rap. It was good getting to talk to so many Threads in such a low key setting. The food was excellent, especially yummy was the Red Velvet Cake. It's hard to believe I attended two fantastic parties back-to-back!

It was a great party and a great time with the fellow Threadheads. I got there alittle later than I planned too. I started out with a taxi driver that had no idea of where your address was (said he did). He started taking me to the airport. I got him to drop me off at the quarter, so I decided to go to the LMF and have a beer, ran into Juls and Charlie. We had quite a few beers then came to our party. I got there just in time for Paul's set and the raffle. So nice of you two to open up your home for this event.

Is there a way you could email me the pics at a higher res, or burn them on a cd? I don't have any pics of the raffle party and sure like yours. :)
