VINYL JUST BOOKED AT MAPLE LEAF 2nd week-end

I realize the grids say different but Vinyl just got a late booking at Maple Leaf on Saturday/Sunday. Jazz Fest is just not the same without these guys doing this show that night/morning....
On the grids it says Perrier Lounge (a new group of DJs) 7:11 (DJ Dance Party) around 3am but this is no longer.


I just wanted to get word out for them. You will not be disappointed. They are based in San Francisco and kick serious arse. These guys deserve it!!! Oh and they have a pancake party after the show.

OK, let's do this! Vinyl at Maple Leaf on Saturday night May 2 (or 4am May 3 if you prefer). The tradition continues! Please shout it from the mountain tops and get all the usual suspects (and the unusual ones) on board! We want this show to send ripple effects through jazzfest!

i have caught these guys about 4 or 5 times and it is always one of my fest highlights... they rock the house for sure!!! never caught them at the leaf though and would love to catch them there one of these times, alas we are not there this year on saturday night. :(

my friend called me as i sat on the tarmac in cleveland today and she told me this show is indeed on! we have shorty/dj logic tix at colton late night saturday but are going to cut out and make the leaf. 3-4am sounds about right! they killed last year and i'm happy they are playing again! w00t!

Heard from Geoff from Vinyl and they will be playing two night gigs the first week-end of Jazz Fest this year.
Blue Nile on Friday and Maple Leaf on Sunday. This is not set in stone but it should be soon.

Nice! If that holds true, judging by the grids, it'll be early show on Fri and late on Sun. Spleaf here we come!

I stumbled onto them one night at some dive in the Quarter, and I absolutely LOVED them. I went back to the condo, poked Big Dave in the ribs about 20 times and made him get up to go see them with me. Very cool grooves!

I got my start times straight from the band that I previously posted. As for Maple Leaf, they can only hope to start at 4am....I would say around 5 would sound reasonable since that is when they used to start, other than last years gig when they didn't go on til around well after 6am. That won't happen this year.

wow they went on after 6am last year? missed that show but caught the '08 one. guess i was thinking this would be a tad eariler because Joe Krown isnt scheduled to play that late - midnight i think. ah well, not complaining - monday is a great day to sleep in...

In '08 I walked out of Maple Leaf and it was light out so that show was damn late as well. I didn't hang around for the pancakes...

I guess we will never know if Maple Leaf will slam someone else in the middle of Krown and Vinyl. I am prepared to sleep very late on Monday : )

Listening to the archive link now. this is some great sh*t! Got it down as one on the ever expanding list of "must sees" (but we know how THAT goes). But I'd be more apt to see them since I haven't. Don't know them at all, outside of their name possibly, kinda ringing a faint bell.

Dave, you will love them live down in NOLA. They really let loose! It is a band that you will never want to miss at JF again.
