killing me and I'm still a Fest virgin. I did do FQF last year and it was wonderful so on a small scale I know what I'm missing....hope the next few days go by quickly. Fortunately since I'm a racing nut, the Derby countdown is providing a little distraction.

I couldn't agree more. I just read through all the new posts and its killing me. Last year when I went 1st weekend I had the Blue Room to ease the pain when I got home. Back to OZ.
Is it Tuesday yet.

So see ya at preakness??

Ya know, I was actually considering skipping Preakness this year due to lack of funds but the closer it gets the more I just know I'll kick myself if I don't go. You going?

Quality Road is now out of the Derby. Fresian Fire is training like a monster but I'm a little concerned he'll be too fresh. Still love I want Revenge. Desert Party I need to look at more since he has gotten big kudos from some of the handicappers out there....just not that familiar. Great crop of 3 year olds and I'd say many have a very legitimate shot. I'm a huge Rachal Alexandra fan and I think by far she has been the most impressive horse this year...she should take the Oaks without breaking a sweat.

I got some pretty good Preakness stories but unlike you I don't think I ever saw a horse race from the infield.:D ;)

Sure would love to meet ya...a FEST VIRGIN!!!

Belle ... i didnt even know there were horses there until i was about 30. Due to some happenings in recent years , they have completely banned bringing in outside alcohol, in an effort to improve the image, ie; make it more family friendly

See this is where I am truly the oddball because I could have cared less about the partying. It’s always been about the race. In 89' I was taking a final exam and well, I walked out of the exam..did not finish and didn't care, I was going to watch the Preakness come hell or high water. Best decision I ever made as that was one of the greatest races ever. Sunday Silence and Easy Goer battling down the stretch..Wow.

I actually skipped a couple years after an unpleasant occurrence in the infield. I vowed not to step foot in there again and I haven't. Fortunately friends with decent seats on the apron and full time employment moved me away from the dark side.

This year they have completely changed the infield...no booze allowed in. As a racing fan I like the change in format but giving the economy and such, I think they are going to take a big hit and Maryland racing needs no more hits.

Weve been doin the clubhouse for the last many years, and I love it!! Totally agree about the timing of the rule change .. the only hope is that the revenue gained by selling beers to of-age people trumps the tickets lost to the underage drinking crowd
