Awesome!!!
Although, I'll wait for LMF in two weeks.
Are there Threadhead CD box sets available?

Chris, I have a question (only because I don't understand a lot about the "new media")...
When someone buys tracks from itunes, how does the revenue flow? Does it go to TH Records first, and then the artist, or does the revenue flow to the artists and then they repay TH Records? Speaking of that, does the repayment to TH basically work on the honor system, or is there some kind of auditing process? I've always just wanted to know exactly how you've managed to structure such a creative deal!

Good questions, Ross. Was wondering the same thing myself.
For now, I'm gonna wait til TH records day at LMF so they get a few cents too.

to date, most everything has been on the honor system. Revenue goes to the artists first.

Wow, I hope you have a 'karma clause' in there somewhere!
I think it's great that the system works the way it does, and I sure hope that it continues to work that way, but all it takes is one or two bad apples...
Keep up the good work, Chris!

I'm not saying it's going to be the way we work from this point forward. :)

Yeah, it's unfortunate but there's so much inherent distrust in the old label/artist model that the entire idea of just repaying royalties on the honor system seems...wild. I know a bunch of bands (and a bunch of record companies) that if you offered them that deal, they would just smile...
"Uh, sure....so what you're saying is that if we do sell anything, we should just keep track of everything and we'll pay you whatever, right? Yeah, we could do that!"

Ross,
while you may be correct - I am willing to guess that the reason it isn't going to be that way going forward may have to do with the copious amounts of paperwork required and accounting/reporting procedures when you are a 501(c)(3) (or 3-c- however that order goes)......

Yes, there may be different business models we will use, depending on the project, situation, artist, etc.
