As a service to those going to Jazz Fest, the Regional Transit Authority is providing safe, inexpensive alternatives to taking your car to the Fest.

RTA has the best deal in town-fares are only $1.25 each way (exact change required). Look for the RTA streetcars bringing passengers down Carrollton Avenue to Beauregard Circle near the Fairgrounds. Buses along several routes will also provide convenient transportation to the Fest.
The City Park/Museum Canal Street Streetcar can be boarded along the Riverfront between the French Market and Canal Street, or at any stop on the line between the Mississippi River and Carrollton Avenue. Ride to the end of the line at Beauregard Circle near the Fairgrounds.

Buses will also provide service to the Fest, bringing you so close you can almost hear the music: bus service along the Canal streetcar line will supplement streetcar service; the # 91 Jackson/Esplanade, the # 94 Broad, the #32 Leonidas lines will provide enhanced service. The #91 Jackson/Esplanade will extend its hours until 9 p.m.

If you want to park your car in a safe spot and then ride RTA to the Fest, Delgado Community College will offer paid parking on their City Park campus and from there you can take the #91 Jackson/Esplanade to the Fest.

Staying uptown? Take the historic # 12 St. Charles Streetcar and transfer to the City Park/Museum Canal Street Streetcar at Carondelet and Canal Street. Transfers are an additional quarter and must be purchased when boarding the first RTA vehicle.

RTA's streetcars and buses will operate both weekends of Jazz Fest-Friday, April 24th; Saturday, April 25th; Sunday, April 26th and Thursday, April 30th; Friday, May 1st; Saturday, May 2nd and Sunday, May 3rd.
For additional information, call RideLine at 504-248-3900 during the week and from 7:00 am to 3 pm on the Saturdays and Sundays of the Jazz Fest.

Coming from the Riverbend Area (Carrolton and St. Charles) is there another route to go directly up Carrolton rather than taking the St. Charles street car all the way back to Canal and then up the festival?

JDM, you can go to http://www.norta.com/routes/ to find the route you're looking for. BTW, where in Colorado are you?

S/W Colorado, just outside of T-ride.

Thanks for the link.

It looks like I can jump on the #32 Leonidas and take that all the way to Carrolton and Esplanade without transfer. If that is a bad choice please correct me.

Thanks gain.
