i'm heading to second weekend, and then staying around (cause i just can't get enough...) until the 9th. I am wondering if anyone is familiar with any groups/agencies/orgs that are doing wetland restoration work that i could volunteer with---of course, if you know of any orgs you would highly reccomend that would be great also!

There were a couple of threads in the Jazz Fest Forum on this subject. I'll see if I can dig one up. Look over there soon.

Here's a couple of links for Wetlands Restoration Causes that I hope are helpful....

Also the Gulf Restoration Network.. sounds like they will be very present at fest.

Thanks in advance for donating your time to this cause:)

Hey, Binny. I worked through the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana for a week last March and again in November. Both weeks were amazing experiences. I had been on previous trips to the Gulf Coast to work since the "thing" and this is BY FAR, the friendliest, most organized, efficient and meaningful group I have worked with yet. They are helping the people who NEED the help the most. They will pair you up with other volunteers if you are by yourself and you will be busy the whole time. Contact the volunteer coordinator, Pete Nunnally. His info. is at www.edola.org under the Office of Disaster Response page. Click on "Volunteer" and you'll be right there. I promise you won't be disappointed.
