Just found some details on Ingrid's this year on her site:
http://web.me.com/youngshane/bybash/BACKYARD_BASH.html
I can't tell from this if the $25 covers any food & drink or not. I will email her to find out.
Lots of FOMS that day - Rosetree Fest, Jolie's Bayou Bash, Ponderosa Stomp, etc etc... here is another option for the evening.
I still haven't decided, but I know for my friends arriving that day they will want to stay in town. I was thinking this was a cheap evening (it was in years past) but if the $25 is just the cover, the Stomp might be a better value....

Marcia in the Square is an option, but i wont return during jazzfest. its too crowded. unless you're really close, you cant see or hear. the food lines are long and the crowd difficult to get through. (sort of like DMB day at fest)
Ingrids: i'm thinking the draft abita's were $2 last year (up from the previous year). the food last year did not seem as good as the food the previous year. both years the prices were very reasonable. its a lovely backyard party. everyone is extremely nice. very low key, bring your chairs. more sitting than dancing, but there is dancing. glad they switched it back to a non-fest day. last year ('08) by the time we got there (after fest) we had missed so much music, it wasnt worth the money. especially since we were so tired after a long day at fest. but in '07 (on a wednesday) we had a great time at this party.

My rec is Rosetree in the morning followed by Chazfest -- I have been to every one and wouldn't miss it for the world. Very reasonable, very fun and full of newer local bands.

Yes, Marcia is crowded, but it's nowhere near as bad a DMB day. Not even close. Heck, it's not as bad as even a Buffett or Santana or Kravitz day.

Ingrid has just let us know her prize package will include a pair of tix:
So for my Surprise package:
An award winning DVD documentary about our family band upbringing called "Random Lunacy"
A signed poster from the backyard bash with amanda Shaw, Alex Mc Murray, James Andrews, Anders Osborne, Jeff and Vida and myself.
an "Almost Blue" Cd and a brand new off the press cd "St. Valentine's day massacre" release date April 21
two tickets to the backyard bash
and most special of all, two items of clothing for children made under my new clothing line, a retro brown corduroy skirt with horses, and a jumper made of the same material for a four year oldish child. Made for my daughter, but never worn. Very Very cute!

No, not in the 3 years I have attended. And with all the other events that night and the increased ticket price, it'll probably be a smaller crowd this year.

Yes it is Glinda, what a great prize, eh? It's listed as Ingrid Surprise Pack or something as we just now got details. If you search by Ingrid, you'll find it (I don't know if it's in music or prize packs?)
