i sent an email to my contacts that would be interested in items in the raffle. since i'm driving to fest, i assured those who weren't attending that i could deliver their winnings. the email was warmly received and hopefully will generate some ticket sales.

you dont have to be attending the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival this year to participate in the raffle. i can make sure your prizes are delivered to you.

We are proud to announce the launch of the Fourth Annual Threadhead Charity Raffle benefiting Fest 4 Kidz/Silence is Violence and Threadhead Records Foundation. Silence is Violence holds free music clinics, supported by Fest 4 Kidz, offering lessons and providing musical instruments for New Orleans children, to give them positive options for their futures. Fest 4 Kidz also provides tickets and spending money for music clinic participants and their chaperones to attend a day at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. Threadhead Records Foundation provides financial assistance to New Orleans musicians in the following ways: producing CD's and other media, advertising/publicity, and arranging performances for THR artists. Both of these charities are grass roots non-profit organizations.

The info is right on threadheadraffle.org (scroll down).

When you see an item you like, click the more details link, and then the "buy tickets" link from there. When done shopping for tickets, clcik the shopping cart link on the left, and check out and pay via paypal or credit card.

Items can be picked up during fest. They can also be shipped at the winner's expense.
