This fest is absolutely terrific!!!!! I'm starting to like it as well or better than JF (forgive me!)
Out in the beautiful country & woods, yet close to hip Ivy League town Ithaca (Cornell) its a cross between JF & Woodstock, but much smaller. Totally eclectic music mix (bluegrass, gospel, reggae cajun/zydeco, jam bands, African, Hispanic, Native American, even commercial C&W), 4 stages, distinct hippy vibe, its run by Donna the Buffalo's people.
Great food too, not like JF by a long shot, but lots of ethnic restaurants have booths. Plus, for the true zydeco dancing fanatics, ALL NITE Keith Frank dances (first time I had something to prove, so I stayed up till dawn, now I try to be more sensible) also all nite expresso cafe.....
Only drawbacks are that it often rains (big deal!) and you have to watch any daypacks etc. for occasional thieves (sad but true)

Check out Jeff Folkins photos for the hippy vibe. Jeff is a fellow z-dancer; I'm always looking for shots of myself, but for some odd reason Jeff prefers shots of semi -naked, mud covered, 20 something "hippy chicks" to middle aged zydeco dancers!?!???!
Some kid had on the classic T-shirt for the region "Ithaca Is Gorges" how true!
Last year some kid had a T-shirt saying "This is How I Roll" with a picture of a roll of TP...
