A dear friend had an accident and lost his leg. He wants to go to the Fest. Are there wheelchair accessible areas? Are there wheel chair rental places around that area of NOLA? Any info would be appreciated

The "Info" drop down menu on the Home page has a Disability Services page. A friend of ours is in a wheelchair and has been attending Fest for years. He says it's the best Wheelchair friendly fest he's ever been to.

In Contemporary Crafts, we have to abide by ADA regulations when putting up our booth. This is the only festival that even mentions ADA rules.

have your friend drop by the disabilities booth (last year it was in front of the grandstand) and they can fill him in on any extra details. the person in our group seeking assistence was given a key to a restroom that on a few people had keys to- he was very appreciative of this.

Hey now,
The wife uses a wheelchair, so I can speak from experience...
Yes there are accessible areas - the big stages have reserved sections way up front.
Definitely visit the handicap access booth in front of the Grandstand to pick up that port-o-let key!
There are even loaner wheelchairs at the Gentilly entrance (near the Grandstand) if your friend doesn't bring his own.
Tell him this: Go to Jazz Fest! And have fun... :D
While not all areas are accessible -like the middle of the field at Acura- there is SO MUCH you can do at Jazz Fest in a wheelchair! It's worth the trip. Yeah you right.
they amy be accesable by a legal standard but could be better
