This thread stresses me out cuz there's SO MUCH I still have to do. I've already got my oil changed and air in my tires but I still need to get the car detailed and then my pay my car insurance for another six months. That's just the car.

I've lined up my babysitter for first weekend but haven't yet for second weekend. Hope she says yes!

I've already scheduled my haircut for the week before I leave, I still need to highlight and color my hair and maybe get a pedicure. I still need to go shopping for a couple of outfits, that'll be next week, I think. I have to pluck my eyebrows and lay out by the pool as much as possible the next two weeks. Oh, and don't forget the ongoing diet and exercise regimen.

I just found out today that her dance class is taking pictures for the recital program the day I was planning on leaving to go to fest second weekend. So now I won't be able to leave until late Thursday night! Oh, and some time between now and then I have to sell ads for her dance program. I also have a dental appt. the 21st. Whew.

Have we mentioned packing yet? No. I can't do that until the week of and after I do laundry. I have printed my cubes, map and food list so that's something.

I'm just glad next week is Spring Break.

Gick. I haven't made work arrangements yet (self-employed, so I just have to alert clients and get the midnight oil ready for the week before), have hotle for second WE but not first. I'm driving down, but still have to get the car ready. Review, update and print my annual packing list.

I haven't cut my hair in almost two years - so I'll blow that off another couple weeks (at least), I do my own pedi's, but maybe I'll buy a cool new color for the tootsies.

I have to finish my raffle prizes and maybe mail them next week or give up and just bring them. Lagniappes for the meet-ups...may have to bring hugs for everyone. Liquor store run for booze (like we can't find good bourbon in NOLA-whatever).

you may be right about all the venues being listed for 1st, daze & 2nd. i was only messing with 2nd wkend (making my own spreadsheet), and there were a lot of blank entries like Chaz Fest and other stuff that's not related to 2nd weekend.

also, Neen's excel version(s) will be posted on threadhead.org very soon.

last year i went to fest with a temp crown, it fell out, one side of the tooth broke off (1st weekend). survived jazzfest with mouth wax and the crown ended up costing more because the side of the tooth had to be built up to hold the crown. :(

ooh - wish I had known. I do know a couple of dentists in town who might be able to fit you in as an emergency or at least patch you up until you get home to your regular dentist - who accepts your insurance if you are lucky enough to have good dental insurance.

it was ok, used an emory board (with my dentists permission) to file it down a little and then used wax. it was a back tooth, no one could see it.
it didnt slow down my drinking. and now i wonder (note drinking excuse) if maybe it didnt happen until thursday - it was definitely a fess day because i remember talking to the dentist office from the fairgrounds.

moral of the story - dont go to fest with a temp crown.

i am the queen of multi process, but i can't post and pack at the same time.
remember my trick for roadtrips: laundry baskets. they're so easy to load and search through. stack 2 together (one empty), then when you get there pull them apart and use one for dirty clothes.

i am the queen of multi process, but i can't post and pack at the same time.
remember my trick for roadtrips: laundry baskets. they're so easy to load and search through. stack 2 together (one empty), then when you get there pull them apart and use one for dirty clothes.

That's a good idea those baskets. Unfortunately, I've already packed most everything in our suitcases. And I won't be there that long anyway; I come back Monday. I do bring an empty Target bag for the dirty laundry. :)

I've got us both packed except for the backpack and fanny pack. lol, the backpack is still packed from last year so I'm pretty much done. Just still have to go over tiedye's list to make sure I have everything.

And Chicklet has her pedi now! :p

Nope, I'm bad about that too. I cleaned the house last night and I'm the only one leaving - Mike will stay home over the weekend before he flies down Monday and the house/dog/cat sitter comes next week (gawd, I hope he re-cleans before he leaves!)

This is why we do it: You're already gonna have post-fest blues and you certainly don't want to come home to a dirty house! Plus, it's just nice to have a clean house waiting on you. Makes it a little easier to come home. :)

Got up this morning and checked in for my flight early tomorrow morning. Love that early check in becuase more often than not you can score an exit row seat, which I did (the kind with no seat in front of it!) Double score for those of us on the tall side. Drove to w@rk, checked the bored - now have to do some actually work and try not to check the cams every ten minutes!
