Also known as wishful thinking. Who do you think might show up and sit in with a JF performer?
On April 30th, look for Sam Bush to play with EmmyLou Harris and the subdudes if he is in town, which is likely since he does not have a posted show from 3/25 (Merlefest) until 5/2 (Nashville). Sam used to play in the Nash Ramblers with ELH, and I saw him sitting in one year with the subdudes at fest (93 I think) as well as Bela Fleck at another stage. And he likes N.O alot. ( don't we all?)

Good Speculation, EM I would also look for him to sit in with Del McCoury 1st Saturday at the Fais Do Do. Del and Sam have played many a set together at Telluride Bluegrass Fest

Thanks, Sweetie. Wish I could be there too! I don't look for hm to be there 1t weekend just because he (usually ) hangsa t MErlefest, and I know he is booked the 25th, but, ya never know about Sam! Fred, I know this is a stretch , but think about Rhythm and Roots this fall in Bristol, Tn-Va. It would be great to see you, and Ric and I will be there fo'shure!

Pete Seeger plays Fest first weekend, then has his star-studded birthday bash in NYC 2nd weekend. Among the NYC guests are other 1st weekend performers: Patterson Hood, Dave Matthews, and Del McCoury. So if Pete brings up guests at Fest, any of those three might be possibilities.

I would love to join you & Ric for Rhythm & Roots but there are limits. Money/vacation time. I sure hope your in the 2010 Jazz Fess lineup.

I think Bonnie Raitt will sit in with John Scofield and the Piety Street band. Two of the members of the Piety Street band are also in Bonnie's band. She plays earlier on the same day.

I wonder if Patty Griffin will sit in with Emmylou Harris or vise versa.They've toured together before and Emmylou was a guest on Patty's last album.They are not playing on the same day but according to Pollstar neither has anything scheduled immediately before or after these dates.They sing beautifully together on the song "Trapeze"
