View Full Version : Which Flip Flops (sandals)?

Festaholic

I've always worn flip flops to music fests and was never really picky about what kind. I've worn the $3 Old Navy throw aways and cheap leather brands from places like Marshalls. I've noticed as I've "matured" that walking and standing all day in these cheap shoes is starting to cause the dogs to bark more than I'd like so I plan to upgrade for JF. At this point I've narrowed my choice down to the Crocs Athens, Chaco, or Rainbow leather sandals. I am interested in any input on these brands yall may have or any other suggestions of brands I should look at. I'm looking for something that gives some support and has cushion that won't flatten out. I'd like to keep it limited to flip flops as I don't like the back strap style shoes. Any help is appreciated.

I like Börn shoes. Cushy with arch support. Great for standing all day.

festy, I myself spend the entire JF last year in Nothinz, a knock off of Crocs. I personally loved them. It they got muddy or sand got in, just rinse them off and put them back on and you're good to go. Just enough support...and easy to slip off while watching a show. The only shoes I would rather wear would by my hiking boots...fantastic support for all day use, but would hate to have the mud caked all over them and they are not easy to slip on/off when the mood calls for barefootn'.

I've worn Crocs and I still prefer a flip flop...Just looking for ones that have more support and cushion.

See the "Other Shoes" thread under "Everything you ever wanted to know." Lotsa thoughts, pics, and even podiatric advaice there.

My Born semi-flip-flops served me very well last year, lots of arch support and cushioning. And the brown leather did not show mud & dirt.

Hi Festa...I'm a big fan of Teva 'Mush' thongs. They form to your foot and are super comfy!

those are great for sure. I had a pair for many years before getting my chaco flip flops. also great sandals but one problem is they don;t absorb your sweat and get a bit slippery when it's real hout out. great flops never the less though

Hey Now Teva makes great footwear. I have had the same pair for 6+ years, and they are some of the most comfortable sandals I have ever owned. This year will mark thier 7th consecutive Fest, so I feel like I have more than gotten my moneys' worth!!!

Hey Now, MormonMatthew! I love my Tevas. Last year, though, I brought my running sandals down and was not happy with them at all for prolonged wearing, so a tip to anyone that may have those Tevas. I may break down and get another pair this year as the ones I have now are approaching double digits in age.

Hello, Flip flops are characterized by a simple V shaped strap that are known as thongs, which are place in between the big toe and the toe next to it. The sole is mostly made of rubber but can also be made of trendier materials like fabric, bamboo or leather. I like these type of flip flops.

chipchopchick-I have a pair and they have ok arch support, but then again mine are fairly new. Grabbed em off Ebay when I was looking for a replacement for my sport sandals. Here is a link to the woman's mush off the Teva website.

I'm with you Matthew,
I brought a pair of Tevas and a pair of Keens with me to the fest last year.

Despite the excitement of owning a new pair of Keens, I ended up wearing my Tevas the majority of the time. Besides comfort, they clean up well.

We need to have a Teva party at Ms. Lena's. Just bought my 8th pair last night. I love them. I did buy Chaco's for my Orlando trip and they were amazing!!!

I agree with you PC, that was most likely spam. If not, they can keep those flip-flops (yes, the one with the V) Over $100 is NUTS!

"Teva's most popular flip flop, featuring built-in arches for long-lasting support and comfort. Soft and thick Durapontex® EVA midsoles are lightweight and shock absorbent, making these the most comfortable flip-flops you’ve ever worn!"
