Hey Everyone,
Last year Eddie Bo played both weekends. Does anyone think he may do the same this year? My bro would like to see him but he's coming the 2nd weekend and it looks like he is only playing the 1st weekend. Just wondering....

If he is not playing the Fair Grounds 2nd weekend then I'm sure you can catch him at night since he is from NO.

Just got this back from Eddie's sister re: his performance dates: Jazz Fest 4/27 & Piano Night, but nothing other than that in New Orleans. On the 28th of April, he'll perform at Festival la Louisiana in Lafayette -- evening, 7:15 -8:45 PM. If anything new comes up I'll post it.

Piano Night is an annual concert put on by WWOZ on the Monday after 1st weekend. Two stages, probably about 20 of the best piano players in town. This year, 4/30 at the House of Blues.

Eddie is a can't miss act.His band at the fest is made up of allstar players that exude joy at playing with Eddie.You will be singing "Check Your Bucket" the rest of the week.

I couldn't agree more, Eddie Bo is quintessential NOLA!!!! He puts on the BEST show and always does a secondline. Greatest piano player.

It is. The only reason that it's not an every-year must-see for me is that it's always the same night as the Instruments a Comin benefit at Tips.
Lately, I've alternated years.

Thanx Funkkjunkie. I thought I had saved that site to favorites but I hadn't--so now I have it! So much great stuff going on. In some of the recent years past I've been too tired to go to evening shows but when I have they have been phenomonal. I remember seeng Ricki Lee Jones one year and I have seen the Iguanas a few times and they are always fun. I'm feeling like Piano Night would be a real treat this year (although 75 bucks is a little steep). But we'll see! Thanx to you and to Swag for the info! I'm SO EXCITED!!!

Thanx Swag for putting out the info on Eddie & Piano night. My computer crashed & I'm behind on answering.......working from the library now & trying to get things in order to make it my 16th consecutive Fest.
