it seems like the event will go on...
just some reorganization.....growing pains of a young fest...

Most of our JF krewe made it to Bayou Boogaloo last year. Small crowds and great music.
This looks messy.
If they in fact have the two competing fests on the same weekend, it will be the end of both of them.

the "let's put on a show" attitude is great ... it's also not realistic anymore. even a charitable foundation is a business and has to be run as such. that's how the most money gets to the charity. [i was an accountant for the company that planned/fund raised for the 2 day breast cancer walks in canada. i didn't like some of the president's charges but we had an excellent record of getting money to the hospitals]
if they try to compete with a "better" more "charitable" fest, they will lose for both groups.

This looks messy.
If they in fact have the two competing fests on the same weekend, it will be the end of both of them.
not necesarily...altho each will be weakened...
theres a big caribbean carnival in brooklyn every labor day weekend,
and for several years it split into two...both survived for several years,
and then they reunited....
the drift seems to be that only one will happen this year...
