They've been ripping it up for the past few hours; feel like I've been listening to my iPod on shuffle, but with some added tunes from some of the artists. Van, EC, etc., and now a great version of "The Weight" that sounds like Susan Tedeschi with DTB or ABB. Great music for this Spring-like afternoon here in the Northeast.

Leon Russell; now we're digging into my vinyl. Pretty sure they're spinning vinyl there today too. I have lots of the stuff they've played, but much of it only on vinyl.

Nice! We've completed the coast-to-coast link from CT to CO to OR. Would be a great to see a montage of the different environments/regions in which we are all listening simultaneously.

Been on all day. Caught the Tin Men live! I had been wanting to hear them since I heard about Matt Perrine leaving Bonerama :(. Now I will look for them around town & at fest.

New DJ started at the top of the hour; the previous fellow left to get on a plane to NYC see the ABB at the Beacon tomorrow night. He was in an outstanding blues/rock groove for a few hours. Much different now with the jazz, but still very good. Actually a nice change of pace--feels like an afternoon at Fest...

Is there a name for the type of jazz that the new DJ is playing?

She referred to the format of her show as "modern jazz" herself. I don't know enough to know if there's another term that might be more precise or fitting. I call it "good."

I did have it on in the car at lunch and it was a great playlist. That version of the Weight is ST with ABB at Fest.
