Greg and I are going out this evening to see Great Big Sea, a Celtic rock band from the Maritimes, with my daughter and son-in-law.
A great way to celebrate St. Patrick's. Think I'll have a Guinness or two as well. :)

Hoppy Sint Paddys to all! I celebrated on Saturday at the parade. But since it's an unbelievable 70 degree spring day, I might just have to wander over to the new Irish pub that just opened in the hood. They have a tent party with a pipe band and somestep dancers. Slaite!

Great Big Sea is appearing at Rhythm & Roots this year. Never seen them before but really like what I've heard; they should be a great fit for that fest. I'm psyched to see them.
Oh, and Happy Feast of St. Patrick to all.
Georgia was originally a British penal colony so we got more Irish blood here than most people realize. I've no doubt my descendants were Scotch/Irish rabble rousers of some sort so I'll be out tonight with my red-haired gal. Special K's last name is Kelley by the way.

Astral Weeks on the CD player at work, O'bama in the White House and our first 70 degree day of the year. Life is nearly as good as an AIG executive slopping in TARP funds.

I don't see any Irish Whiskey in those shot glasses; it's supposed to be separated from the Bailey's...

HSPD to all!
Irish I had some beer today. (oh, well, I'll just go help myself.)
Since I'm Scot-Irish, I'll take a whisky with Guinness back, and will end with Bailey's for dessert. I'm wearing green inside and out.

Aren't they in the NIT? Or is there a baseball game on TV that I am not aware of. ;)

oooh, how was it??? I had a ticket to that show but gave it up because we're in trip-savings mode right now. First year I didn't go out for St. Paddy's Day. How was the new arena Saturn?

That would be correct Lit....1/2 a guiness, a shot of irish whiskey and a shot of bailey's....dump it all in and chug before the bailey's starts to curdle lol! Friggin yummy though....tastes like chocolate milk by the end :) Sigh..........

when I had my first car bomb in Nola years ago, they gave us separate shots of Jamesons and Baileys....dump in the whiskey then drop in the bailey's.....

The bands were both great - Spirit of the West opened with very high energy and Great Big Sea kept it going.
The venue was pretty good -- the stage was at about middle ice with seats on the floor. Greg and I were straight on about 6 rows up in the stands.
Beer was expensive! and they had stupid limits on buying -- each person could buy 2 regular or 1 large -- so we all ended up standing in the beer line.

Sounds perfect! Scots/Irish ... we're all Celts, we all like our whiskey (and we're good at making it too)!
