I have a question about "name your own price" airfare on priceline. I was going to drive down this week to interview for jobs, but 25 resumes later I only have one interview set up, so my need for a car down there has been greatly diminished. Non stops from Chicago are about $300 right now with fee's and all. What should I bid on a flight ( march 17-25 ) from Chicago, knowing the flights have room and taking into account I HATE stop overs/not knowing flight times till after it is too late, etc...I was thinking $120 which after fee's comes out to $170 ish.
I know you are the man to ask. Thanks !!!

I have little (no) experience with bidding for flights; the uncertainty of the times is too big a deal for me. All I can advise is to decide what the risk of a 1-stop flight at an inconvenient time is worth. If that means bidding just $120, then try that (but my gut says that is too low to succeed).

BTW, I think $300 for a no-advance roundtrip seems pretty good.

It was $280 last night, but I am BROKE !!!! I figure with the cost of gas these days, I can drive it for about $220. Thanks Swag.
