I poked around and couldn't find a thread, but I'm wondering if we are permitted to sell tickets on the forum (face + fees only, of course)? I may be interested in selling my early birds for second weekend (4 tix) and quite possibly for first weekend as well (3 tix).
Well, the forum doesn't have a published Terms of Service. I think I've seen folks offering extras in the past; I suspect you'll be okay, and worst case, they may just delete the post.
Do you just have extras, or are you thinking you'll miss Jazzfest? :(

I might have extras for second weekend, but possibly both weekends. No way in you-know-where I will ever miss Fest! :)

Anyone needing 4 tix for second weekend, please be in touch. I'm selling for face value + fees and I got in before the price increase on February 18. I'll throw in Priority Mail shipping with tracking at no charge.

I'll need 4 tix for second weekend. I assume that translates to entrance for 2 people for 2 days, correct?

No, I'm sorry. I should have clarified -- I have one ticket for each of the four days of the second weekend (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday) as that's how the discount packages were sold. I apologize for not communicating that earlier.

Hey Now Sass.....
I was going to wait and buy my tickets for the 2nd weekend in person when I got into N.O. on tuesday 4/28 (at that point I can still get them for 42 dollars each at the Superdome box office) I need one for each day of 2nd weekend. If it will help you, maybe I could buy your set, and save going to the Dome. I am not sure what your set cost with the fees that you were charged, but if its within a few dollars (+or-) of what mine would cost ($168) let me know and we can work out arrangements......

They were $164.80 with fees. If you'd like to take this off the board, please e-mail me at IAmSassbox at gmail.com. Thanks!
EDIT: just noticed your e-mail address and sent you one.

Hey Sass, I would be interested in potentially picking up your 3 x first weekend tickets if they become available. I'm arriving into NOLA from NZ late on the Thursday night 23rd, too late to get to the Superdome.
Perhaps you could email me: pauldotgurney@xtradotcodotnz
if you would like to discuss. Thanks, Paul

I will definitely let you know if I end up with extras for first weekend as well! I should know within the next week or so.

I never did hear back from the poster who was interested in my second weekend tickets. That threw a wrench in to my plans, thus my first weekend tix will not be available...I'm sorry.

Hey Now MM.. the tickets at the Arena were $43 --$3.00 Service Charge this year.. 4 tics = $172. Not that it matters much.. And not to be harping on ticket prices as I know it's been done and DONE.
I just hadn't paid much attention to the packages this year and am a little shocked that the early bird special amounted to $164.80... Doesn't seem like much of a special???

$140 = $35/day, plus $24.80 TM fee = $164.80.

The advantage of purchasing at the Arena box office is the tickets are not date specific. The early bird tics @ $35 + service charges are only good on a specified date.

Thanks for the update Sassbox. Shame that you never heard back. Anyhow, guess I'll just do the gate thing first weekend.
See you there maybe!

There are usually people selling extra tickets at the Sheraton in the lobby while waiting for the busses. I bought two last year for $25 a piece.

Just don't try to sell them at the gates at fest even for less than face value. In NOLA thats scalping and you can be arrested.

as the officer explained it to me, its selling without a license. and he could arrest me. but he didnt, he just made me stop doing it while in line to get into fest. (we walked up the street and made the transaction, and i entered fest with the person so they knew they had a good ticket)
NOLA's finest are not the problem, they get heat from the ticket booth about people selling tickets. something he said made me think that ticket monster also staffs the booths.

We were very fortunate one year when we bought at the gate on a day by day basis, on the last day of Fest a guy was giving away his left over un-used tickets from a group (he had about a dozen on hand).

like i said. the folks in blue are not there to harass anyone (i have always found them to be friendly & helpful, when given the proper respect), but if someone complains (ie, the fest itself), they had to uphold the laws.
and i think some of those vendors do have licenses. i imagine a street vendor license is different than a license to sell tickets.

If you know a ticket taker you are in the money!
