We caught them here last Friday. Great show, Lucinda is really upbeat these days. It was a pleasure to see her smile so much. You are in for a good time tonight. Enjoy!

LBI,

I'm heading up there this evening. I'm excited; new band and newer venue.

I'm not sure how the facility is configured so I don't know if there's any good spot to meet up. I'll be wearing jeans and a black tee (weekend uniform). I'll put an Oscar fleur de lis on my bag.

Linda

PS Michele and Eric??? Hope to see you.

(obviously, Eric and I didn't make it up there last night. We're saving any $ for jazzfest.)

Sorry guys. Here goes...

Lu's band Buick 6 opened the night and played a short set including a cover of a classic surf tune (LBI will have to help me with this one) and Led Zeppelin's Ocean. I like da Bone's version!

Lucinda played what I would term a "lovely" two hour show. She and the crowd were pretty subdued. The crowd seemed to get into it a little when she performed Greenville, Come On and Honeybee.

I was surprised by the new hair. Lu was wearing a striped tee and looked a little bit of my hero Chrissie Hynde.

This was my first visit to the Wellmont. Outstanding addition to the NY metro area! The main floor is spacious and you can get very close to the stage. There is seating in the balcony. There are multiple bars that served Bud products (ick!) and Stella!

Sounds great! I love Lu and the new venue sounds great as well. Thanks for reporting back:)

I was fortunate enough to catch both of her shows in DC a few weeks ago and she was absolutely on fire. I think this is the best she has looked and sounded since about 2002. Buick 6 is very, very good and the new guitarist, while seeming a bit hesitant both nights, has a lot of potential. We got two pretty varied setlists and, on the second night, a ton of material off of Car Wheels!

That sounds promising,I will be seeing LU twice at a festival I am going to in a few weeks and look forward to seeing some stuff from Car Wheels, and hearing the band and maybe even an AC/DC cover.
When she played at Jazzfest a couple of years back she was ok but not great and a bit emotional due to it beeing her first gig or whatever in Nola since I think her mother died. And I chosen that set over watching Van from memory,as he can be sketchy and was told that he was good and even smiled, thats the luck of the draw.
Cheers
