I noticed on WWOZ's web site they are changing the way the Brass Pass works. Now, instead of using the Brass Pass to enter the fest, it's only used for getting access to the WWOZ hospitality area. Instead of the pass, you also get 7 tickets for entry, each marked for a specific day! They claim this is an improvement, since you can enter at any gate, but it sounds like it could be a hassle to me. What if you forget your ticket, or accident bring one for the wrong day?

There is no mention of rather or not pass holders can bring a guest into the hospitality area. I remember last year, they tried to restict access to only the person with the Brass Pass, but after complaints, they changed it back to allowing 1 guest.

You can read more about the new policy here:

It sounds easier to me. I remember last year that there were complaints about using only one gate. It wasn't an issue to me personally, but I could see how it could have posed a challenge for those with mobility issues, or those with young children in strollers. It looks like they are trying to accommodate the needs of all festival attendees.

If you have trouble keeping track of the days, you could use the envelope trick that I use. Just separate all the tickets and put each one into an envelope with the day/date marked on it. That's what I do for all the events I go to when in town for Jazz Fest.

The only tricky part, to me, would be making sure you get your wristband before leaving the fairgrounds.

Having been a BrassPass holder in the past, I was never aware that there was a guest policy for taking others inside the 'OZ tent. IF that is true, it seems like it would sort of defeat the purpose, due to the overcrowding issue that may arise.

Anyway, just my 42-cents' worth! :) The BrassPass is really cool. Hope you have a great Fest!
