Anybody ever been? Does anybody know how many people it attracts? I've always heard wonderful things about it. Looks like a great way to start Jazz Fest.

I've been to festival International - it's actually really good - but it's hard for me to leave the fest or be late.....so generally I do not go. They have their own spiffy website www.festivalinternational.com (http://www.festivalinternational.com)
and since it runs from April 25-29, 2007 this year ...if you come to town before the Jazz Fest starts you can rent a car and catch it !!! That's so great !!!

I did just that last year. I went to FIL for 2 days (the club shows start on Wednesday night), then JF for 3. It was a wonderful time. They have great food in Lafayette, too. FIL has a smaller town feel than JF, and it's right in the streets and parks of downtown Lafayette. If you want to check out the stuff that will be going on around Lafayette at FIL time, check out the Advertiser (www.theadvertiser.com). They have an event calendar and already have a couple of things on the schedule for FIL time.
Every time I go to Lafayette, someone from the newspaper interviews me. I must look like a tourist or a lunatic, or maybe a lunatic tourist.
