Two years ago there was a small tent behind and on the side of the Acura Stage where lucky Acura owners could munch on free food and get a closeup view. Is this still around? If so, how do you sign up for it? I dont remember how I lucked into it last time, but it was great. Thanks!

Well I've never heard of this, but this year I will definitely look for it! Love my little TSX. Free food and a close view wouldn't be bad either.

The tent that is usually on the fairgrounds behind the acura stage is actually a tent where Acura brings its latest cars to 'sell' - and it is air conditioned and they sometimes have food.....other than that ....like Glinda - i never heard of that.....

To clarify a bit, this was a smaller security guarded tent area almost touching the back of the acura stage, not the tent where the cars are displayed. You had to have an entry pass from Acura with you to get in. It was two years ago that we went and it was there, no idea if they've done it since or did it before.
Yes, it's still there, or at least it was last year. But I don't think merely owning an Integra will get you in. You need to buddy up to a dealer or corporate to get a pass, I think.

What the heck, maybe I'll ask my dealer next time I'm there.

Yeah...wish owning an RSX got me something..like a pass to their nice bathroom!! but alas....it's true, you gotta know someone...

Unless I'm mistaken, most of the big corporate sponsored stages have private areas with beer and food (blues, fais do do, Acura). It goes with the territory. Hmmm -- note to self -- organize threadheads to sponsor a stage so we can have a little area with wine and booze.

My fiance has a co worker and Acura owner from Alablama who got passes last year and wasn't using them. We lucked out by telling her we were going to Fest and she hooked us up. I asked the Philly area Acura dealers if they were available...Yes I would buy an Acura just to get back in that tent...They had no idea what I was talking about. It may be a gulf coast thing. Any gulf coast Acura owners want to share? Thanks for the words of welcome...I've been attending Fest since 1996 (always 2nd weekend...it's my birthday and after this year will be my anniversary...YEAH)and just found this board. Just when you think you know everything :). I can't wait for my first Strawberry Lemonade and Jama Jama!!!
I got access to the Shell tent last year through a friend and it was sweet. No AC but plenty of fans, water, soda and a nice layout of food. Oh, and blue rooms too :)

Anyone else get one?

Who'd the letter come from? Acura HQ, your local dealer??
biskuit

It's from Acura, not the dealer. Came in a nice brown envelope. There's a code you need to give them and they match it to your name and address. Says "nontransferable."

Any luck on the Acura Tickets yet?.We have 2 Acura's since monster in-law gave her Acura to us because she felt she got too old to drive any longer and they are both less than 3 years old.It only struck me today that Acura would have Comp Tickets so I'm sending my other half to the dealership to arrange FREE (his favorite word) tickets.I just hope the fool did not dump them in the rubbish, it could cost him dearly since I have his Black Card etched in my brain;) and he was terrified when I looked at the Ferrari Enzo when they were released. The irony in this weeks accident involving a movie and Enzo was this was the 2nd one wrecked in 3 weeks. The other bit the dust in England.Just got off the phone with the Sales Mgr at my dealer. He said he'd make some calls for me!!! woohoo!!! MAYBE.....

The dealer said he talked to someone at Corp and I was "in" and would be getting something in the mail. That was a week ago, & I'm still waiting. So it's definitley worth it to ask. I don't need the free tickets (i'll give em away to friends)- already got a brass pass, but admission to the tent, THAT'S what I'm talkin about!

Glinda, Try calling 1-866-207-3839 & then call 1-800-382-2238 extension 5 for help.It appears as though they have a waiting list and the marketing company [the 866 number] they hired.ONLY ACURA OWNERS IN CERTAIN Southern,Southwest States were the target market.I'm calling the Acura Manager locally since I skipped over him to the source and telling him that Acura RL we looked at will be purchased when hell freezes over or I get an Acura Tent Pass!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sailing, Brass Passes are still available thru WWOZ.

Gets you free admission each day, with re-entry, and access to the WWOZ Hospitality Tent. Not as well catered as the Acura Tent surely is, but a good place to relax and cool off.

Thanks, sailing. My dealer guy called to follow up (amazing in itself!) and he's going to check on it for me, he did ask which weekend so it sounds like they're going to limit the pass to only one weekend. So I still don't know if I'll get anything, but if not no big deal, it's just a nice little extra perk.

I'm hoping to hear back from my other half if I have the pair of passes. On an up note the pass in his name can be used since I need wheelchair assistance when the disease kicks up and walking is so painful I'd go through 14 hours of labor alone again, instead of the pain I suffer. It's more being unable to do things that pisses me off because of the frustration level. So I could always use his pass for someone to push the wheelchair into the tent hehehe;)

[FONT="Comic Sans MS"]Our Acura dealer confirmed that the tickets would be here this past week back on 4.5.07 so far it has been 12 days and I'm angry too.NOW is the time to contact Corporate Acura and inform them of the incompetent Marketing Firm.I discovered they were given to customers on New York & we have the Berklee School of Music. They crank out Jazz Musicians as fast as Harvard cranks out Lawyers.I'm going for blood on Tuesday when everyone is at work since Marathon Monday/Patriots Day is a legal holiday in some states. One would think Acura would love to court previous Acura clients.I guess the NIT-WITS @ The Marketing Firm screwed this one up quite well.I'm calling my local guy one more time & if there is still Bullsh!!t both car's will be traded in for ANOTHER MANUFACTURER.If a car dealer can't keep his word, dumping the company and voicing why sends a very clear message.Good luck to all it seems we all got hosed.Looks like it's time for me to test drive the RL, I just need a scorching hot day to do it 90 degrees or above, won't run the A/C all of course at 11:15 am and then proceed to terrorize the salesman in 15 new and used models. It breaks them everytime!!.Only this time they will not be selling me squat. At the Buick dealer locally where I bought my LeSabre the entire team of mechanics vaporize when I'm in the building. My Dad was an engineer trained at Barvaria Motor Works in Germany so I had to know how to dismantle my engine, change my oil etc. Just for a learners permit so having grown up around that at home and having 3 car dealers as neighbors growing up I was taught to Master the Art of Breaking a Car Salesman and I'm furious with Acura so I am making him take the cars to dispose of them or it will be very sticky when I get home.I like our GM @ Acura but I'll be polite with him and tell corporate exactly what I think especially since my other 1/2 swaps out an average of 1 automobile every 8 months since he drives 2 cars of his own and same goes for me then we have "beach front property".That property is a Buick with coral from the Keys and sand from beaches all over the country.I think it would make a good selling point at a Jimmy Buffet Tailgate Party. The more we pi$$ off corporate by putting more u$ed Acura'$ on the road with no intention of purcha$ing a new one the more they s$ee how this is effecting their LOYAL (what a crock) client ba$e.HIT ACURA IN THE POCKETBOOK BECAUSE THEY UNDERSTAND THAT LANGUAGE LOUD AND CLEAR. Sailing seems a little uptightP.S The marketing firm they chose ONLY sent the passes to select states which I found odd considering The Berklee School of Music in Boston has developed many of todays Jazz Greats!!.Meaning there is a huge Jazz Population in Massachusetts as a delightful result. And Acura did come through, since my son turned 16 as I was landing in NOLA nobody is home to sign his learners permit and we plan to let him learn to drive in the old Acura and LeSabre.Happily I got the Cadillac speed demon to go play on I-10.After managing a major corporation for 16 years I admit I can be demanding at times, but that is the corporate side of my personality.I need to go tend to the sweet teenage boys with the pure Aloe I brought (O.K I'm still a Mom & only have 2 sons left living, my youngest was 8 and was lost on March 30, 2007 that may explain my stress at the time).A parents worst nightmare came true 1 month ago today, so I apologize for the earlier shot.Grieving your youngest child sucks!.No hard feelings. OK I read the rest of this thread and from what I know this is how the Acura thing works:
I remember about 3 years ago my mom received a letter in the mail from Acura asking us to call a listed number and give our adress or whatever and select a certain date that we would like to receive the special Acura Passes. However, our passes got messed up and we never got them!! I was really mad. I think we got that letter though because my mom had been an owner of an Acura and had purchased it within I think 2 years. Also this letter may be randomly sent to Acura owners within 2 years to narrow it down even further.
Furthermore, my dad just got a client that is a backstage producer at the Acura Stage who will be providing me and my Texan friend with Acura Passes for the whole weekend. (I love my parents!) And even cooler is I might be able to get an internship at the Acura Stage next year, even though that just might be hauling around stuff.

Well I had my virgin expereince with the Acura Hospitality Tent. What a treat! I wil definitiely try to get the passes again, hopefully they will send them automatically. Just having a place in the shade to hear Steely Dan on Sunday was HUGE. Then you add in the free (great) food, drinks, and standing space right up front beyond the tent (even if the view was not great) and clean, no-line portapotties, and wow! A lovely perk. Might just keep me in an Acura for awhile.

I have friends who traded in their Acura for something different 4 or 5 years ago, and they still get Acura stage passes in the mail. I called them from where we were camped out during Johnny Rivers/Rod Stewart to chew them out. They had a great time anyway.

Does anyone know if this tent will be available in 2008? I've got friends and friends of friends who work for Acura and Honda and was going to ask them if they can get me some passes, but since there hasn't been much discussion about it, I wasn't sure if the tents will be there this year. Any info is appreciated :)

Weren't you sweatin and waiting and calling last year. Glad to hear it all worked out.

I don't know for certain, but I do know Acura is again sponsoring the main stage, and every year they have done that, there has been a side-stage Acura hospitality area... so it seems a likely bet.

I forgot all about this! Better try & contact my dealer, but it may be too late. Or maybe they'll just arrive in my mailbox. Ya'd think it would be on my permanent record.
Like jazzfest would be no fun without it......

You all crack me up! Esp. Sailing...hahahaha...
Yah, the sun has gotten to me from all the sailing as well.
Bring on the heatstroke! And as a nutritionist I am suppose
to know how to handle it...hahaha...but once you're partying in New Orleans
and eating all that delicious food, common sense seems to leave me
and I just endulge and enjoy. Can't wait to be there 2nd weekend.
Get out the do rags and umbrellas! "Sailing takes me away to where I'm going to the sea..." (Chris Cross) and soon to be "Wasted away again in Margaritaville." Stlbarb, I think you're a stitch. You sound like fun to party with.

I have gone to the New Orleans jazz festival 3 times and was a guest of Acura. The offer comes from thier corporate office. They don't send me the invitation every year, but they have sent it at least 4 times since 2000. Acura treats their guest like royalty. You have to respond to the invitation that they send you in the mail. Then they FEDEX two free passes to the festival on the day of your choice and they have showcase various local caterers all day long. Seems like every other hour they have a different kind of food for you to taste. You can stay in their tent or you can go and visit other stages. Also it's free drinks all day long, beer, water, soft drinks. I really enjoy myself when I go as an Acura's guest. This year, I've been looking forward to the invitation, but haven't gotten anything yet--which means I probably won't get one.
