I just saw the show last night at the Ramshead in Annapolis. Great show and I must say Anders was dead on....would have liked to hear him play a little more. Its an odd venue as its table seating so no place really to get up and get your grove.

Threadheads represented as Larry and Amy were also in attendence!! We were also among the few in the back that got out of our seats.

Hiya FunkFester,

The show was great. Osborne went on first around 8:30....you don't expect him to be on time do ya. His set was pretty short, maybe 5 songs. But man he definitely left you wanting more. Louisanna Rain was awesome. Loved the tuba player that was with him.

I really like Lindell and thought he was awesome. Had some new guy with him on keyboard last night that was pretty good and the sax player really pulled everything together. Played off his two albums plus did a couple songs off the new album and a song I think Willie Nelson did at some point. Larry and Amy may be able to fill in that blank.

Have fun!

I was at Ram's Head Tuesday. Anders arrived late. He obviously had come straight from the airport. He did 5 songs including Back on Dumaine, Louisiana Rain and Aiming Way High. I am drawing a blank on the other two, maybe Stoned, Drunk and Naked. Eric Lindell had a larger band with him than the last time I saw him, including a keyboard player. Missed Chris Mule a great slide guitar guy I have seen in his band. He was not there. The keyboard and the awesome sax player more than made up for it, I think his name was Jimmy Carpenter.

Anybody know anything about the venue? All I know is that it used to be the Village Gate. The website is a bit odd, and does not have any pix.

What a FUN night!!!! Loved Eric Lindell, my first time seeing him and I thought he was great. I even got a chance to chat with him later on, (I think he might be increasing his security detail for CFF). Anders was really high energy, (in a good kind of way), sounded great and looked good, dare I say a bit chubby even! All good signs.
Big Sam was excellent, many NO classics mixed with some wonderful high energy cover tunes.
I thought the venue was great, lots of people but plenty of room to get around and easy to enjoy the show from the front row if you wanted to.

I didn't meet any threadheads but I did see Michael "Crawfish King" Arnone. I wasn't the only one having a FUN night,
I didn't know Margaritas were a traditional Mardi Grais libation, last night was not only fun it seems it was also educational! :D

Got there a bit late just in time to catch the end of Eric Lindell's set - which was apparently very short...but he sounded good.

Anders was good - and steady - nice to see him return ! :)

Big Sam was good -but didn't hear enough of him play - he was busy allowing the others to jam - which was still good - but I really wanted to hear more of him.

The venue was much better than I anticipated - so that was nice. The floor plans had me thinking it was going to be very small. In fact, very interesting set up and I don't think there was a bad place to stand anywhere in the house.

They needed more bartenders -to be truthful - both for the crowd because people were complaining about that- but for their own sake. They were moving, very pleasant, and trying to meet the crowd - but there is only so much that a couple of people can really do........(not fair to them).

The only complaint I had was the DJ - he was absolutely horrible. Now, I know that's pretty strong - but it was 'off'. He was trying to be high energy but I think he missed the crowd. The tell tale sign was the people were leaving - in droves - when he played before Big Sam. People yelling to hear each other and many just went outside because they didn't like it - of all age groups. It was weird - because the musicians full force sound was well balanced - but the DJ..... The sound was ridiculously loud - to the point where it hurt your ears - and I am not a prude about those things - but again - people were leaving. He was trying to be high energy - but this was billed as a mardi gras annual show - he didn't spin a single mardi-gras like track or feature any new orleans artist - and there are many genres of music he could have chosen.....

Hung out with NYMAMA (and Bud), The Zipcodes, Jazzykeb, and a few others. Saw Michael Arnone for a brief moment. Trixie - would have been fun to meet up with you !

Yeah, agree with everything the others have said. Really liked the venue, except the lack of adequate bartenders. Eric Lindel was very good, if not a bit mellow then when I have seen him in the past. Anders was on! Great set, best I have seen of him in a long time. Did not make it through Big Sam. Was there a group jam afterward? Did not see you there Michael, bummer. Plenty of others to share the good times with, Eric and OrleansNJ, NYMAMA and Bud, Paul, Charlie, Jude, Fishman, and a few of my friends from home. Great night!
