Can any one give me an idea when the Marcia Wednesday in the Park show will be over. Our crew is making rezzies for dinner that night. If I remember correctly it is around 7:30

The schedule is from 5:00 - 7:30, but she's been known to extend it sometimes for an extra 10-15 minutes.

I guess it's worth noting that they have not yet announced this year's schedule. Not that there's any reason to believe that it won't be Marcia.

I got Marcia's dates in the email on Monday and they have the Lafayette Square concert listed. :)

it was crowded last year, but we will probably go back. depends on whether her JF set creats FOMS. will bring something to drink this year. last year it was too crowded to get a beverage.

when & where? we usually barely get checked in before we head to the square. it does rush us and it's hard to get close by the time we get there.

it starts in the afternoon & goes into the evening, their house is midtown (at least thats the neighborhood i think of?).
probably not good choice if you're staying in the 1/4 and not arriving until rush hour.

I'm always hanging out at the St. Charles Tavern and Pool Hall(AKA The Mailman Bar) with the Post Office guys. It's a block away from the square. I try to get a to go cup to bring to the concert but somehow I end up hanging in there the whole show.

ya know, that's just how it seems to go in NO especially at Fest time. ya start having a good time and just forget where you are going.

I know it's crowded buts it's fun (and free). We end up running into a lot of people there. It's kinda become our unofficial meet-up.

Anyone know who else is playing that day?

I still ran into at least 4 other people from my little backwater town wandering around the park last year, but I think the days of walking up to the stage to see Michael Doucet might be done - doesn't mean I'm gonna stop going, tho'... I must've managed to get a few beers in me, cuz the guy in the kilt behing the "bar" got funnier as the show went on. Oh, and Herbsaint has got too crowded and popular again, so you probably don't want to wander that-a-ways... ;) (they do take rez, just sayin')

Last time I was on the Wednesday in the Square website I saw they sell drink tix prior to the show on their site. You pick them up at will call once you get there. Maybe that will ease the crowd pain a bit. Then there is always the old standby flask (a water bottle full of vodka).
