I'm all for supporting New Orleans musicians when the come to town, but $40 to to see the Rads? Are they out of their mind?

Weren't Meters cheaper at the Nokia?

No thanks fellas.

Rather than blame the musicians - let's talk about the venue?........

Perhaps, I'll pay $20 to see Rebirth instead. If it is the Lion's Den's fault, then I'm sorry. I like the Rads, but not for $40.

I saw Pharoah Sanders and McCoy Tyner at the Blue Note for the same price.

Thought that was a bit rich too but the Lion's Den is a fairly small venue for a band like the Rads - much smaller than their previous NYC venues like Irving and BBs (and without the food). Meters at Nokia were $50 face.

It is pretty typical for a rads ticket in the greater NYC area especially in the smaller venues and it doesn't seem to discourage folks from coming out??. That makes the smaller venues sometimes over crowded at even these prices which definitely takes away from the experience. I didn't go to the cutting room Empire Zeke shows this year because it just gets way too packed to be any fun.....

curious... where did you here the rads were playing the lions den? nothing about it on the rads website or lion's den website. haven't heard anything about it on the rads list server either. just curious where you heard this from.

have seen the rads at the lions den before, cool place... and one of my favorite rads shows ever... although it was like 105 degrees on a hot august night!

The venue is only trying to make their money in order to pay the band. The Rads deserve it and are well worth the money.

I think the scariest and most expensive thing is how much you decide to DRINK that night. Now that can put a whole in your liver...oh, I mean POCKET.

We got tickets to see the Rads at Southport during first weekend. 20 bucks each. Sounds like a bargin to me.

For a really small venue I will pay more. In Winchester VA we have a great small bar that big acts come to and usually pay 50.00 to see the likes of Little Feat but heck you can chat with the bands and they are in your face while playing. The bands have expenses and the bar has to cover these costs. Just the way it is.

Small venues are my favorite!! So I will pay the price

Went to the Lions Den for the first time last weekend to see Eric Lindel. Place wasn't much to look at ,but the sound system in there was way above avg. Everything sounded great. $40 is a little pricy for a club show but pretty sure its going to sound good.
