Can't wait to see pics!

Was there a good turnout??

There was a really good turnout; maybe 200 people +/-.

Plus, when John Boutte sang, "American Tune", I don't think there was a dry eye among the 400 eyes in the house. It took my breath (and my mascara) away!

Aw, CE, wish we could have figured how to hook up last night.

I've got pics posted on Facebook for those with accounts - I'll have to figure out later how to put them somewhere more public.

I also got video of the encore - Boutte singing 'Blackbird' - will have to upload later, since I have to go play in the California sunshine today :

Man, what a good show! I'm still buzzing!

After seeing your photos, I think I was standing less than 10 feet from you all night!
We didn't know anyone there (newbie to the forum), but still had a great time!

OMG! That is my favorite! Stynger sent me a dvd of Gumbofest with John singing that song & I was watching it (again) last night. I cried at the fest & I cried sitting on my sofa. John is amazing!

Ok, thanks to Festival Girl for the heads up on using photobucket/bulk upload for pics. Here (hopefully) is a link to the shots from Friday night. I pre-deleted the really blurry ones ;)

We sold about 170 tickets, with about 200 in the crowd total. For me, this was an even better night than our June show....why? New songs from John and Paul's "Stew Called New Orleans"....a new song from Shamarr's upcoming album....a lot of people that were at this show that weren't at June's show....what an exclamation point to these points:

John is an amazing singer
Paul is an amazing songwriter
Shamarr is such an all-around talent.....he has that "charisma" magic.

Ben Jaffe of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band played tuba for a few songs...Paul and John ran into him at LAX (a wonderful coincidence), and asked him to stop by...and he did!

AND: we have the soundboard audio and it's going to be synched with a video (Colman's girlfriend had a handheld camera)....so that should be out in a few weeks.....

Hey festivallgirl, tell us who's who in the pics you posted!

That's my sister (in the middle in the blue top) and her krewe. My cousin Paul is to the far left. Looks like they were having a fine time reliving the fun of Frankfest a few weeks ago!! (Those are Frankfest beads they are holding up.) :)

Hey festivallgirl, tell us who's who in the pics you posted!

I'll go back & do some labels.

NOLA identified his sister & krewe.

The guy in the Molly's t-shirt is Curtis with his Wife Jeni (she's Stewatude on the bored but we've lost her to Facebook). They're locals here in LA and will be going to their 3rd Fest this year. In '07 they said they were tired of us talking about Fest ... so they checked it out themselves & totally got it!!

The guy in the white Rock n Bowll shirt is Jim - JTuning here.

The guy in the Maple Leaf t-shirt (under the button down) is Kevin. He's a lurker here & reads Swagland!!

That's Festbabe with Paul.
