I looked into a car rental this weekend- prices are sky high this weekend around DC.

I would imagine so... If I lived in DC I'd be renting out my place for the inauguration in a heartbeat.

The car rentals I was referring to are for NOLA during JF...

I just got a midsize from Wed. to Mon. for $260 through my company. I have not checked on other deals yet.

The reports of everyone renting out for crazy $ are a little overblown. A few succeeded, but then everyone put their house up for rent.
I saw someone advertising a place in Ocean City MD as a place to stay. They were claiming its 1.75 hrs to DC. Its at least 2 1/2 hours without traffic- would be miserable.

I saw some funny stuff on the news this morning. Some guy had a completely empty apartment that he was advertising as "sleeps 18 comfortably" (if you have your own air mattress). Another lady was renting out her backyard for tents. A bunch of Repub aides, etc are renting out their apartments as they look for new jobs.....

Saw a report on the local DC news about a month ago regarding all those folks renting out their homes/apartments. Pretty much it has been a bust with only 1% actually getting rented. Three weeks ago there were over 500 hotel rooms left in the city. With other major metropolitan areas nearby (Arlington, Alexandria, McLean, Reston, Crystal City etc.) that have access to public transportation, no one is going to pay the fees these folks are looking for.

HA! I saw that too... reminds me of the early daze at Fest when we were all on top of each other. It was fun but I don't miss it all that much :)
