I checked out Eli at a festival I was working at recently and he was excellent. He is a young white guy from Chicago I think. He a great soulfull voice,a bit like Sam Cook sometimes, plays guitar well and is good showman with a good band and he even came and signed CDs at out van for some new fans he created.
I would suggest he is well worth a look if he is in your neck of the woods.

Cheers

YYR Gards, he is great. He got his start around here in Boston, but I'm not sure where he hails from. He does put on a great show, he's got a great throwback sound, and I'm glad I was able to catch him here, because it looks like he's starting to breakout. The world needs more like him!

Glad you like the album,I have had it for a while its excellent. His tour manager gave me an EP which even has a version of Ace of Spades which was made famous by Motorhead on it plus a couple of live tracks.I dont know if you can buy it on normal retail as this copy says for Promo use only, but we were selling it at his festival gig.

Looks like it was being given away as a lagniappe with purchase of his new disc last month, per the record company's website:

SPECIAL OFFER: Eli went into the studio recently to record some extra material for a special promotional CD EP. These are not for sale, except from the stage at shows... 3 all new recordings Ace of Spades, Bad Girl, and I'm Gonna Break every Heart I Can plus 2 live versions of songs on Roll With You.

How can you buy it? You can't... But WE'LL GIVE IT TO YOU FOR FREE with a purchase of ROLL WITH YOU, either on LP or CD, between now and December 23 (while supplies last). Already own a copy of Roll With You? It'll make a nice gift for someone on your list!!

You might want to e-mail them and see if they'll still give you the offer.

Gator, he actually hails from Massachusetts as well...saw him a couple of times around and about on his rise to fame at some clubs and such. YYR, he should be a big hit.

Perhaps we were in the same room...

And I HAVE to hear his version of Ace of Spades! Hey Gards, if for some reason I can't track it down, maybe we could work something out...Hmmm?;)

His management that I had brief dealings with here in OZ,due to Eli playing at a Festival that I was the Merch Guy were good people, and I am fairly sure that when I email them I will be able to sort something out.
I will keep you informed when I am slightly more sober than I am now.

For my local radio station's year-end poll (WXPN-FM in Philly) I named "Roll With You" one of the top ten albums of 2008. Love his voice, love his songs. When I have to describe it I tell people: It doesn't sound like a pastiche of 60s soul music, it sounds like an actual Stax/Volt session that went missing for forty years. I'm glad to hear he puts on a good live show, too, I hope to hear him soon.

I have spoken with Ed Valauskas who is Elis label manager as well as being the producer of Roll With You.
And he said that the EP will be available through the Q Records website soon with the Purchase of The Ace Of Spades 7 inch. There you go Malogator.Ed also said that they may put the EP up for sale on its own later on.
Sharon Ed was very impressed when I told him about how you played Roll With You nearly 100 times in row when you got it, and he was going to pass that info on to Eli.

Just ordered the EP and the single..also found the dbs tribute on there too--way cool. They have a lot of the Boston artists that were popular in the late 80s and 90s on their label as well...Jen Trynin, Julianna Hatfield, Aimee Mann..oh there are a few dudes there too that are pretty good
