looking for some posting help

i have tried to attach a picture to my profile and my text w/ no luck , i have read the faq, i have been to my user cp , and under my posting rules is suggest i may not post attachments HELP

You can't post attachments. For pics in posts you have to upload your pictures to some place like www.photobucket.com and link to them through the Insert Image icon (the yellow square w/ mtns and sun) using the Direct Link you copy from Photobucket.

You profile pic and avatar must fit within the size limitations - 80x80 pixels in dimension and <19k in file size. They, too, must be hosted somewhere like Photobucket and the Direct Link addy put in the custom boxes in the User CP.

Now, don't qute me... I think to ad a pic to a post you find the pic you want and then right click and cipy the url address. When you wnt to post the pic in your post you click the yellow box with apuntain and sun and then patset the addy ou copied... voila! Hmmmnnn... maybe wait until soomeine sober is around. Gooood lk.

The sizing part is the most difficult. It can't be bigger than 80x80 pixels and the file size has to be less than 19k. Otherwise, when you paste the Direct Link addy from photobucket into the Custom Avatar addy box, nothing happens.

If you want, send me the pic you want to use. I'll crop & size it and send back with instructions. :)

Check and be sure you don't have double "http://" in the Custom Avatar box.

Next, I need to add a signature!

Hi, Bobatude!

So, you're still having permission problems being able to post images? Make sure when you log in, that your profile options are set to allow that.

To do that:

1. Log in.
2. Click on "User CP" up at the top of the page.
3. Click on "Edit Options" on the Control Panel side bar on the left side of the screen.
4. Scrolling down in the options that can be edited, go to the box titled "Thread Display Options"
5. Make sure all three checkboxes in "Visible Post Elements" are checked, but particularly the third one (Show Images (including attached images and images in [IMG] code))

Finally, click on "Save Changes" at the very bottom of the screen and you should be good to go in attaching images to your posts.

Hi, Christy -

Similar process to the one I just suggested to Bobatude. Log in and go to the User CP area, there you can create your signature.

To post photos, they either need to be hosted on a site like Photobucket, Flickr or Snapfish, or you can just right-click on an image from the Internets, select "Copy Image Location" and use that.

Then, once you have your image selected, go into your post to activate the cursor placement; click on the little icon above that looks like a box with a mountain and sun/moon in it - that will cause a field to appear in which you can paste the image link in it . . . and then post the image in your post! :D
