This was pretty cool. We just had lunch at Liuzza's on Bienville, which was packed. I have on a TH Records t shirt. Some guys were leaving and one stopped & patted me on the back & said, "I love the work ya'll are doing, especially with Paul Sanchez & Boutte!"
Pretty cool, huh? :)

It's Monday night the 19th (MLK day). I think most of you will be home by then? Some of you better be, because the Tips website says that Paul Sanchez & the Rolling Road Show are opening...

I noticed that a lot of folks are out of town over the weekend of the 16th and some are coming in. We'll be there for a couple days that weekend, leaving Monday PM unfortunately, and have been looking at the music options for Friday night. Saturday is already decided (sonny at the RnB) but Friday has a lot of unfamiliar names on it (to us at least).
If you were in town on Friday and looking for music what would you choose?

hmmmm
Hot Club of New Orleans is at d.b.a. at 6:00 pm on Friday, John Boutte is there early on Saturday (could catch him early and then go over to the Rock n Bowl)
http://drinkgoodstuff.com/no/events.asp
That still leaves room for a later show on Friday and Sunday is open as well...

Looks like some very nice options, wannabe. Guess my first choices would be Threadhead Records' own Rick Trolsen & Gringos at the Old Point, or Terrence Simien at the Rock n Bowl. But the shows at Mardis Gras World & House of Blues sound good too! Guess it depends on if you're up for Zydeco, or funk, or latin, or trad jazz.....

I am in a quandry myself for Friday nite! If you have not been out to Mardi Gras World then it is worth the trip and Big Sam won't disappoint! My choices are between Bonerama, Howlin Wolf, Ivan Neville at Tips and Elliott Cohen at Banks St ! A good quandry to be in and will see where the wind blows me.
Sunday Night will probably drop in at the Maple Leaf for Joe Krown.
