I've stayed at the HI-FQ. Decent hotel, good location, a few oddities. Last stay, my room was on floor 9.5. You took the elevator to 10, turned left, and walked down 5 or 6 steps. Then, in the room, there was a big old concrete barrier horizontally across the middle of the window, which I think was the original floor of the 10th floor. And the hotel coin laundry had the hot & cold water hooked up backwards, so when I tried to do my mid-fest cold water wash, some colors ran. But no big issues. Enjoy your stay.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn on Royal some years back and it was fine. Good location and if I recall the rooms were good size. We had a corner room and often they are a bit larger than the others. The pool is indoors and I also recall swimming late at night. This was 8-10 years ago so the details a sketchy. At that time they also offered a free breakfast buffet which had all the fixins.

i like nancy's wardrobe choice for fest. white shirts, black shorts. you can always get them clean, (would only need two loads) and they all mix and match. accessorize with all those lagniappe buttons and your favorite guy.

these are opinions of consumers. keep in mind everyone's standards are different. some folks are very picky - please do not come to my house if a stain on the carpet will bother you.
i use trip advisor often, and its fairly accurate if you throw out the hi & low scores. there are other similar websites. i sometime google (or other search engine) on the hotel name & review.
i think both of these palces will be fine.

but staying at the same place as friends - priceless.
