Irene from Baton Rouge jumpin' in here. We've lived here two years since our move from New Jersey...ah, a New Jersey girl...so this will be my second Fest. We were in for Bruce last year, and are hoping to be there for both weekends, at least one day each, this time around. I looooooooooooooove New Orleans and have invested in its recovery hands on with some volunteer work about every month since last April. NOLA warms my heart....looking forward to seeing you guys around. :)

Only crappie? I love me some crappie.
mmmmmmmmmmmmm crappie! we call 'em calico bass sometimes. Before we lost access, we used to catch a mess o' slabs on a regular basis from a nearby gravel pit lake, spring & fall. Many a fine meal!
welcome katowoman, stick around!

Good to see the new bored!! Missed much of the last year or so...
I am Laura, formerly crazydazey, 40 y/y Live in St Louis MO. Have been to 2 Jazzfest, 04 & 05. Love it! Love it! Love it! Can't wait to do it again! I look forward to meeting all of ya wonderful people from here... some for the first time and some again.
My first trip to Jazzfest was impulsive and I had no idea what it was all about, except that The Black Crowes were playing! OMG was I pleasantly addicted! With the help from all of my fellow Threadheads I was able to accept that there was nothing wrong with me for feeling the passion I do for NOLA and its wonderful offerings.

Yes, a hockey fan. You play, coach, executive??? Me, I do all the above and love it. I get to have what I hope is a positive influence on the lives of some 2000 kids while still going out and play a bit myself. The wife thinks I'm nuts for the time I put into my executive positions, but someone has to do it.
Hey, gang, Robby here. Good to read you again.
For you newbies, I'm 54 years young, single (more on that later) with a great 26 year old son, Matt, who's living with his chick in Austin for a couple a more years. His lady is getting her docterate in chemistry at UT. I spend most of my time working for the local electric utility giant. I don't turn your lights off, I get them back on.
MY TIME is spent listening to live music. I love the Blues. Was raised on Cajun food, music and attitude and have never wanted to do anything else.
Cooking is my hobby. I'm lucky enough to be in the Baton Rouge music circle and get to cook down home Cajun delights for performers that come to town. Lots of fun.
I've been doing the FEST since the first year it moved to the Fairgrounds. When was that 1971, 72? It's a lot different now than it was then except for the JF Karma. That's a constant. Last year's was the most emotional one EVER. I saw so many tears flowing behind sunshades. Good tears. Tears of JOY. Tears of SURVIVAL. The whole thing was just off the chart with emotion. It was also the first time I spent JF with my new girlfriend, Carolyn, better known as "The Little Hungry". She has been in the travel business for years but has just become the new Labor Coordinator for Stageright Productions, so this year she may have to work at the Fess Stage. Too bad, eh? Guess I'll have to be extra sweet till April if I want to get passes.
I'm also an LSU junkie. Was raised thinking purple and gold are the two prettiest colors in the world. Was a Saints fan, then I wasn't, then I was, then I wasn't, then I was, then I wasn't...now I am again. I'm not a fair weather fan, I just get tired of the agony, but I always come back after the wounds heal.
God bless all of you. Be safe until we meet again.

I have a friend who nly drinks Jack and Diets also ... I had to send him this link under the subject line "Do you have another brother I dont know about" ... his reply was this: "Mario, is that you! Been trying to find you for years big bro. I call them Jack and Diane’s."
Really miss all of you crazy music people.
Everyone seems to have survived another off season very well. Mine was as busy as a beer tent at JF. Still trying to get things back to normal in the Big Brees-y. Have been spending about 4 months drawing a map of the underground electrical system for the CBD. Even tho I'm sitting at a desk in BR, I feel like I'm in N.O.. It's still mighty sad over there. Things take so long to actually get done. There is still much help coming from folks from all over. Nothing to do with politics, mind you, just good people coming to help. The folks from Notre Dame came to town days before the Sugar Bowl to help gut houses. I can't say enough about the good people that take time out from their lives and come down here to lend a hand. It goes a long way. More than they can imagine.
The Saints have been an unbelieveable source of mental sunshine. Everyone in the city is still coping day to day, but Sundays are reserved for the Saints. It's been making the rest of the week a little easier to except. There's actually something positive to put your attention on. I don't know what will happen when the season is over. But, if they do (Dear Lord, please forgive me) win it all, that will be a residual that will last forever. I'm trying not to think about it, it's just too overwhelming. I could jix 'em. I don't mean to harp on this HK thing but it has changed everyone's life down here, even in Baton Rouge. Nothing is the same...and it never will be. We cope, accept, adjust and adapt.
Good luck to all of you who are getting hammered by this ice storm. I hate cold weather with a passion. There's nothing to do down here that relates to winter sports. No sleds. No skis. No snowmobiles. Just cold-assed rainy, weather. I'm ready for a lot of JazzFest, myself. Anyone with me?
I hear they're gonna start selling Abita Beer in Washington State. How cool!!
Later. Work calls.

I've been on the boards for several years, but I read a lot more than I post. My name is Brian, I'm 32 and from Raleigh, NC (well, originally Rochester, NY, but after a decade in the South, Raleigh is my home). I first attended Jazzfest in 1999 after my mother visited New Orleans on business and decided that my brother and I NEEDED to see the city. We knew nothing about Jazzfest, but decided that was as good a time to go as any. We had a great time, of course, but We didn't go the following year and it was so excruciating sitting at my desk and reading about all the amazing music I was missing that I haven't missed a Jazzfest since. This year will be number 8, with the group growing to a peak of 12 people in 2003, and back down to 3 people last year.
In 2002, I brought my girlfriend for the first time, by 2005 she was my fiance and we loved New Orleans so much, we booked the wedding and reception at the Riverview Room on the top floor of Jackson Brewery and hired the Joe Krown Organ Combo to play at the reception. The date we picked was October 8, 2005 and we watched in horror (like everyone else) as Katrina made landfall less than six weeks before the wedding date. We held out hope for a couple of days that the waters would recede, but when it became apparent that it just wasn't going to happen, we moved the wedding to Atlanta, encouraged guests to donate to hurricane relief in lieu of wedding gifts, served New Orleans style food and ice cold Abita Amber, handed out beads and chocolate fleur-de-lis to all the guests, and flew in Joe Krown and his band (from various places around the country). It wasn't New Orleans, but it was the next best thing.
I'm a musician (when I'm not working my real job as a software tester) and have been playing piano and organ for about 12 years. My musical tastes originated with classic rock (primarily Pink Floyd), then migrated towards Phish and other jambands for a few years, but once I made it down to New Orleans, everything else took a back seat to the funk and jazz that you just can't find anywhere else. As my CD collection started to resemble the jazzfest lineup, the jamband I was playing with ended up as an instrumental Hammond organ-based funk duo (www.mayhap.net if anyone's interested). You may have even seen us jamming on a front porch on Fortin Street during the second weekend in '04 and '05, right outside the Sauvage St. entrance.
Can't wait for the FEST!!!!!!

Hello,
I don't know what took so long to connect with everybody but here I am. I discovered New Orleans on a business trip in Jan 1999, brought my sons back (one plays keyboards--good funk-mayhap.net) (by the way I'm 61 but nothing about me knows that - it's on a separate piece of paper) I played classical piano, have a theatre and arts background with a TREMENDOUS love for the music found in and around New Orleans. So we haven't stopped in 8 years. We had a wedding planned in New Orleans a month after Katrina hit, had to move it to Atlanta and STILL had the JOE KROWN ORGAN COMBO play for us (we flew in the group from 3 different states). As for me, I'm a designer, marketer and artist. After Katrina hit I began to draw the masks that I had collected throughout the years which I exhibit in Raleigh but also online at ArtMusicLife.com. I HOPE to attend again in April and am trying to find information on exhibiting at the French Market. Can anybody help?
Love to all,
Roxy Love

Good to have a fellow puck fan. I ref youth hockey and have gotten into Bandy this year... Man I must be getting old, whatever happend to me playing for the Stanley Cup on a Tuesday night!!? Played in allot of mens leagues, 6 broken noses and one nose job, couldn't tell ya how many stitches but my scares show through pretty well. Founder of www.kingclicks.com
p.s. who is your team? Sens? Spleafs? Lames? Havs? Spoliers? Schmucks?
I've been a Leaf fan all my life. To be honest, Pro Hockey takes a back seat to what I do with Minor Hockey. I'd rather watch kids play, than over paid pro athletes. But that's just me. I still play Wednesday afternoons with a bunch of ex-pro, ex-junior players, a number of who are 25 to 30yrs my junior. Gets more difficult every year, but I still enjoy being on the ice. Just wish they would slow down to my speed once in while. LOL.
Your website looks awesome. I may actually be in need of services like yours soon. Don't know if I could afford you though.

Hello. My name is Jenny and my partner and I live in Decatur,Ga. I am 45 years old and a child psychiatrist by trade. This year will be my 10th Jazz Fest. You can usually find me and my 'group' camped out under a tree to the right of the Fais Do Do stage - next to the beer stand.
Hi Jenny - welcome to the Threadheads! I live over in Stone Mountain. Been festing off and on since about 1980 or so.

been lurking here for a few days and decided to come out because ya'll seem like such a warm krewe! My name is Johnna & I reside in Land O Lakes (like the butta) FL with my hubbie, Craig, of 8 years and our 3 kids ages 20, 5 & 2 1/2 ... yeah I'm crazy. I LOVE all types of music but partial to jazz & funk ... anything NOLA really. Harry Connick Jr is my FAVE! and Bonerama comes in close second. Love those horns baby! I love to volunteer for good causes and spent a lot of the last 1.5 years fundraising for HFH Musicians Village & Arabi Wrecking Krewe. This year will be "my" first trip to NOLA and Craig & I will be going to Jazz Fest! I'm so stoked! I think I might have peed just a little from doing the happy dance after booking the flights & hotel. This will be the first get away for Craig & I since tying the knot in the Keys 8 years ago. We love to party and meet new friends. Hoping to get to know ya'll better and maybe meet at Jazz Fest!

Welcome, Bluedog! You're in for a whopping good time!
You'll definitely have to show up at the Zulu Diamondcutters' (aka Ms Lena's) beer tent on Fest days at the soon-to-be-decided times and meet up with all posters who come by to enjoy a cold, cold beer and say, "Hi!".

Just checking in for the first time this year. Wondering if there are any Threadheads in Asheville NC? If so, we should hook up! My name is Ron, and this will be my 18th Jazzfest in 19 years. The year that I missed i did attend the FQ Festival. Last year was definitely the most emotional one! Starting to get excited about 07. I'm a second weekender!

T.O. Fester,
Good to hear that you support your local younger players and I know that juniors and the minors are huge in Canada. No pun intended towards Canadian teams with my nicknames just me and my hockey buds here have a nickname for every team, in just about every sport. The leafs rock, probably my favorite Canadian team. I saw the Spleafs and Lames play at the Sattle-Dome in Calgary many years back but their were more Spleafs fans at the game then Lames fans. Kind of felt like our homer domer when the Pac come into town to play the VIkes (Sconny fans invade and take over our town). Feel free to contact us about web stuff we are very affordable and love to do creative work. We usually meet at a little bar across from Pat O'brians (side entrance from bourbon street) can't remember the bar name?? the Viper?, or Voodoo something?? but they always have playoff puck on during Jazz Fest. We'll have to hook up for a pivo and watch a little puck. I am easy to spot in my Chiefs Jersey!

Live in near Winchester VA married (duh) three kids and self employeed contractors. Love music all types but have wanted to do this for some time.
Took the kids this summer for 4th of July and had a ball. Looking forward to a long weekend (26-30) to have somefun....sans kiddios.
Staying at the Maison Dupuy, first time there. We usually stay at the Winsor Court but wanted the French Quarter without the kids;)
Any tips for first timers are welcome. See you all soon.

Want to say hello to all the nOObs!
Just selected my new handle for Jazz Fest '07. Since I lean toward song titles anyway, I thought this one most appropriate.
For those who have not met me: I'm female, married, mom of 1 great teen. Been on maternity leave for 18 years. I enjoy music, dancing, horseback riding, hiking, bicycling, great food, good times, and New Orleans. Etc...
I love to travel and meet new people.
Currently operate a salad bar for hoofed mammals. :)
S.W. Ohio is where I currently hang my hat.
Hope to meet you at Ms. Lena's ZDC beer tent @ Jazz Fest!

Hi Everyone!
I'm Jen, aka abbeyrd. I don't know why I haven't come over here sooner - I have been in love with the Fest since 2002, and since moving away from New Orleans (I'm not a native, but really it's more like home to me than anywhere else) I have made sure to get back every year. Last year was my first 2-weekender. I volunteered everyday at the Fest, and plan to do the same this year. I am also hoping to do the 'tween days and do some Habitat or something similar. I did Habitat this year around Voodoofest, and it was an excellent experience.
If you're ever over on the Cowboy Mouth forum, well, you already know me. ;)
Looking forward to getting to know y'all!

well, 10 posts in and I figured I should introduce myself. I'm a young one here at the ripe ole age of 27. I live and work in Chicago yet am from St. Louis orginally (GO CARDS!)
I am a huge Widespread Panic fan and came down to see them Halloween weekend '02 at UNO lakefront weekend. I had a blast then as it was like a mini jazzfest weekend and completely fell in love with New Orleans.
Made my way back down in '05 for second weekend of Jazzfest (Panic was there at the fairgrounds) and had a great time then as well. So I've been down twice and even though many of you have many trips/yearson me I feel as though I know the city well.
I love everything New Orleans, the food, music, culture, architecture, etc. and can't wait to get back down. I'm heading down for the second weekend this year with some buddies on a quasi bachelor party. Could be some hi-jinks in my group but I'm all about hitting up as many shows as possible, as well as partying and eating a ton!
Will be weird to get back for my first time post Katrina but I can't wait to spend some money in town and help it get back to form and perhaps meet some threadheads. Cheers!
P.S. You know my name and avatar if you're a true New Orleans fan!

I guess this is my first post since the threads were relaunched. Anyway...
I've been going to NOLA pretty much every year since 1991, when I went down as a college freshman for spring break - and luckily caught the St. Patricks parade. There's nothing like seeing crawfish and lettuce thrown from the floats into the crowd!
This year will be my 9th Fest - and my boyfriend's first trip to NOLA. I can't wait to show him what New Orleans is all about!
I'm 34, my boyfriend is 27... Yes, robbing the cradle is fun. We're from San Francisco, going first weekend. Can't wait until the lineup is announced!
See y'all there.

We will be bringing our young adult kids and signifigant others so it should be fun to experience it with them. I am looking forward to as much info as I can get because I always end up being the organizer for the group. Last year it was a cruise we did so I know the drill but this site really helps.

Welcome fwbla,
Despite some of the press you may have read, New Orleans is great place for tourists right now. Great Music, Food and History. It was true before K****a that New Orleans natives were gracious and fun loving, but since then, they treat us tourists extra well. It's like we are doing them the favor by having the time of our lives! Lot's of fun stuff at fest for young adults, so many stages (and free shows in the week between like Mo' fest)
Besides the threads and the information that will start to flow out of this site in the weeks ahead, if you haven't been to swagland.com yet, you should check it out as Swag has built an incredible resource of tips and info for the rest of us.

thanks Saturn for the Ignatious pic! I definitely will have to check it out this time around.
Corona, great to see a fellow spreadhead/spreadneck on the board also. I've be reading the rumors of them second weekend and that only makes sense as they always play the friday of weekend 2 in odd numbered years.
However, I have a sneaking feeling they may play Sunday of weekend one as they're playing that friday and saturday before in AL on the panhandle with no tour dates after that.
Logistically I don;t know if it would make sense for them to have a week off in between but I hope I'm wrong! Time for them to get back to NOLA as they haven't been back since Jazzfest '05.
hate to rag on my fave band but they owe they should have been back already to play a show and help a city that has given them so much. Oh how those UNO shows were so great!

I think it's always a double set when they play, no?
they usually play one really long set, like for about two hours to close the Friday of weekend 2. In all their other shows they play two sets and encore, each set being about 1 hour a piece.
there was a cool pic of the drummer Todd Nance after their marathon set from a past jazzfest where he looks wiped out. Unfortunately I can't find it. It's not easy playing the drums for that long.

Omg, just talking about them is getting me so excited. I'm PRAYING for 2nd weekend as my newbies are coming then and those are my WSP buddies. Guess we'll know Thursday. I'm counting on that long set again too. Lots of people get pissed about that but I'm grateful. So much ass shaking involved...ahhh can't wait!!! Wahooooo!!!!

Hi Everyone! My name is Cindy and i've been lurking/reading this board for a long time. Decided it was time to finally say hello, so...hello! I'm 37 and live in Sausalito, CA with my boyfriend Jon (45). This year will be my 11th fest and his 18th. I saw my first Rads show in March '97 in SF. That night my friend & roomate at the time asked me if I wanted to go to the Jazzfest in New Orleans that coming April/May and I said absolutely! Needless to say i'm forever grateful to him (and I tell him that every year at Fest). :) Not only did he introduce me to my favorite band, the Radiators, but also to Jazzfest. Jon and I are flying in on Tues 5/1 (his b-day!) but don't arrive until the evening so we are looking into changing our flight to Monday so we can go to the Patry on Tues...we'd love to meet you all!

I'm Debi aka Snookums... I basically lurk for the most part. I went to NOLA in '85 as an accidental tourist when hurricane elena caused me to stop and "wait it out" as the storm was just off to the east.. I am ever so grateful for the stop! and every trip to the ciity thereafter has added to some very fond memories and some wonderful friends!!!!
I feel very fortunate to have met some of youse at the Fest! <aka Mecca> and others at ____? I am a RN for the record as my o'fish-al carreer... Hi y'all. I'm the Other One, aka Drea from St. Louis. I'm married to my best friend Tom for 12 years. Have 2 step kids, 26 and 30. Have 2 dogs Max, an Akita looking mutt and Nola, an abandoned purebred Huskie we took in.
I've been a volunteer DJ/programmer at our community radio station KDHX (KDHX.org) for about 9 years. I'm an old Deadhead and my format is all the other music that deadheads listen to which is just about anything. My board name is from a Dead tune that has a line it it that says.. the bus cam by and I got on. I've been on the bus for about 36 of my 50 years.
We started doing Jazzfest after Jerry Garcia died. We used to do Spring tour and always said that we wanted to do Jazzfest and that was the excuse we used to finally go to New Orleans. We've been hooked ever since, usually making several trips a year to New Orleans. I proudly work for Whole Foods which has very strong roots in New Orleans and was one of the first corps to donate big money to the relief efforts.
We attended the Patry last year and look forward to attending again this year. Peace to y'all.

Hello,
My name is Mariena. My husband, Scott and I, love, love, love Jazzfest. We usually come and stay the entire 2nd weekend. But we will make daytrips during the first weekend. We live in Mobile, Alabama. It is only a 2 hour drive. I am 35 and he is 55. I literally cannot wait for April/May. When I left Jazzfest last year, I was already thinking with anticipation about the following year. Sounds crazy, I know, or at least that is what my friends and family think, but I cannot help it. Glad to know there are others out there like me.

I have always tended shows throughout the greater NOLA area... I have found myself always @ the Maple Leaf ( make sure you eat @ jaque-imos first), Tipitina's, HOB, Snug Harbor, and a couple of others... I usually take a night to go see Karl Denson if in town.... Last year went and saw Vinyl @ the maple Leaf which was very strong.... I hope that Widespread Panic will make it to Jazz fest but, we will see on that... I love to see the radiators.... George Porter Jr..... and so on... just keep updated w/ the late night cause some sell-out quick..... I do however want to check out other artists as well this year people I never seen before...

Mariena, if you haven't done so already, become familiar with the grids (www.jazzfestgrids.com). There may not be much in there now, but it will quickly fill as Fest approaches. It'll be your one-stop shop for your night show planning.

Welcome back! Glad to see you have a healthy little Beau there. Much better board now. Pics & Searches and great deal of other custom stuff. No Sports Bar has opened up yet though.
If you haven't checked out Swag's Tournament of Favorites, it already to the Elite Eight which end tonight.....And Fais Do Do needs your vote (http://www.nojazzfest.com/chat/showthread.php?t=649)...as it's the last stage of Jazz Fest still in the tournament! It's going up against Rock N Bowl. Tough choice, I know...but still...we're talkin Fais Do Do.

BTW: Photobucket has resize option so that you can change the picture size after the upload. Just click on the picture in Photobucket and you will be taken a screen with the only one photo on it. The resize option is near the top. You may have to clear you brower cache afterward to see it reflected here.

I have my hands full here – In addition to his many Orange outfits he has a Smokey stuffed animal that plays Rocky-Top. A single bar from that song has the ability to infuriate me. It makes him smile & me cringe!

Hi all!
This is Krista from Texas. (formerly Txchic but I couldn't sign on and had to reinvent myself) Howdy! I've been to several meet-ups over the years, but its been too long! Hope to see you all agian soon. I'm 33, single, with two beagle children, live in Houston, a freelance graphic designer and... still absolutley loving life. This will be my 9th year, but the FIRST with the love of my life who also happens to be a fest lover, too... this is his 5th fest. And no, we didn't even meet in NOLA! I finally found a guy who understands the obsession. We'll be dating one year in May by fest time, so, whoo hoo for us.
I'm bringing 2 virgins this year! Two more to fan the flames! yeehaw
Nathan & Nancy! Hiya! Remember me? Did you see the Congo Square poster? REBIRTH! Awesome! The first time I actually hung out with those guys was with your krewe like 5 years ago. Good times... good times.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! !
Hey y'all! Happy Freakin' JAZZFEST!!!
By the way, I'm Candice from Baltimore. Engaged to Dan, aka dank bass. The first night I met him, at a bar on Thanksgiving night, he told me how JF changed his life and that he would never miss one as long as he was alive. Then he took me to JF that year, and of course I had that perma-smile and found the place where I belonged, and made that same promise to go every year as long as I am alive. So, last year was my third and his seventh (I think), and he proposed to me during Joe Krown at LMF!!! We had considered a marriage ceremony of sorts at JF this year but due to our family (do we really want them all there even if they could/would come?) and probably some lack of planning (however, we do already have our hotel, airfare, and fest tix, so at least we have our priorities straight), we have decided against that (unless of course he surprises me), and there is always next year.
Anyway, I have a 14 year old daughter Madeline, and 2 super cute Bichon Frises, Scooter and Frosty, and as I already mentioned, my big boy Danny.
I did get on the boards a few times last year, and try to puruse every now and then, but certainly am not as diligent as Dan. I also have to admit that I am struggling a little with the new hi-tech version.
I am also very long-winded, so I apologize in advance for any books that I may write.
Regardless, I am super psyched for JAZZFEST!!! And this is our first year to be there for both weekends, so I can't freakin' wait!!
So, I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY, and again, HAPPY JAZZFEST!!!

HI all: I am Kim, 43, from the Alabama Gulf Coast. Love the new bored. Have been lurking for years but decided to jump in and introduce myself!!!
It has been several years since I came to the Fest, plans always changing, people backing out. I can never find anybody that wants to come with me, if you can believe that. The hotel prices always scare them away. I am thinking about driving in, if only for a day, but having a hard time picking a day.
I am a Bama fan, Birmingham native, love music festivals of all kinds. Glad to be here!! Mojo I feel your pain, I am married to an AU fan.

The meetups probably won't get planned until after the cubes come out. Usually we'll get together every day during a break in the early afternoon. They'll also be other times before fest at Liuzza's and when the mood strikes. You can always find some of us at the Zulu Diamond Cutters Beer Tent.

Hi I am Amy and this will be my first Jazzfest but 5th time to NOLA. This is the year I am finally making it to Jazzfest. Friends and I were all planned to go in 2005 but I was 8 months pregnant when the time rolled around so I could not make it. Last year had the old seperation anxiety about leaving my little girl. This year we have her all set up for a stay at grandmas and nothing will stand in my way! I will be there with my hubby, sister and brother-inlaw. I cannot wait and now that the schedules are up it seems all I can talk about is Jazzfest, I am even driving my mom crazy! I have to say it feels good to finally post, I have been lurking around here for about 4 years now!

My wife, who grew up in Knoxville & comes from a long line of UT people, went to Tennessee & Ole Miss for undergad and then Kentucky for grad school. I have a brother that went to Alabama & then Florida who now teaches at Mississippi State. A brother that went to Georgia undergrad & Vandy Med school - he is married to an LSU grad. A brother that went to Alabama. A sister who left the SEC and went to Clemson but she married a South Carolina guy. No Auburn people - they aren't allowed!

Welcome....it is hard to choose at first..but just know that it's all good!! I realized my second year that the best idea is to stay away from some of the huge national acts(that everyone crowds into) and see the local performances.
Good luck!!

I let my brother in law make the final choice and the first weekend it is! He really loves LW and has not seen her before. It was rather nice not to have to make the final decision, too much to choose from. Plus, we all really can't wait to check out all the new bands that we can! I am so freaking excited and we are booking our hotel tomorrow!

I'm Jax, Jacki or MamaRoux, whatever you wanna call me. Got involved with Pet De Kat Krewe back in the 90's... somehow, can't remember any more how... but thanks to my seperated at birth, twin sister, Jujuvoo, who bought me a brass pass as a graduation gift, finally got my butt to Jazz Fest, and had to run over to my best buddy's house to use his Mac so I could finish up my classwork so I could actually graduate.
I'm married, just turned 40-15 on Jan. 11, will be a grandmere for the first time in Aug. I have 3 grown kids... in about 8 weeks we'll finally be empty nesters!!! YEAH!!! The dog, Dozer, can't wait to be the total center of attention.
I have a p/t job I actually like, working in a library and it's only 2 1/2 blocks from home. Besides doing librarian type stuff, I take care of their computers and webpage design. It sure helps to get me to NOLA, and my crazy two week schedule is very helpful - every two weeks I have 6 days in a row off!
Missing Mardi Gras this year, but not Jazz Fest! Some of my favorite music comes from Tab Benoit, Terrance Simien, Sonny Landreth, Marcia Ball, Wayne Toups, Anders Osborn, PGF, Geno Delafose... and so many others!
