Hey NOLA residents!! I LOVE coffee, coffeehouses and talking up a storm. Any favorites in the city proper that would be worth visiting? Also in the qtr as I'll be staying at Chat. LeMoyne and would be kewl if there were one nearby. Any suggestions??

Not sure you qualify it as a coffee house, but Cafe Dumond provides great entertainment.....street entertainers, table neighbors, and sweet treats.

You'll have to call cafe au lait to see if they have espresso etal, mz joey. I'm no coffee drinker. Croissant d'or is 11 blocks. Are you driving or flying vwgal? I"ll have a car so i'll go get us some of those delectable croissants one nonfairgrounds morning. FG mornings-breakfast at the FG!

Do any of the locals know if Rue de la Course coffee shop on Carondelet, near Poydras, is open?

I know the ones on S. Carrollton and 3100 Magazine are definitely open
the one at 1500 Magazine reopened under new ownership
The phone number listed at 400 Carondelet in the most recent Yellow Pages has been disconnected
Zotz, 2 locations both 24/7: Uptown, on Oak St near Maple Leaf, and Frenchman/Esplanade next door from Dragon's Den. If you need espresso at 3:30 AM this is your option.

If there's good croissant Funkkjunkie, it's worth an 11 block hike -- but if you drive, I'll buy. We'll set up the Chateau Lemoyne krewe with some scrumptious pastries one morning.
We're flying in from Canada -- my festal guest is from Vancouver, and I am about 700 kms east in Calgary. She has not been to NOLA so we're renting a car one day to do some of the great stuff first-timers do: cemetary, plantation etc.
And Dank, Royal Blends is my special hang in the morning -- I've whiled away more than a few mornings in their quiet and cool courtyard. I'll be there again this year for sure.

There are so many coffee places in the FQ and surrounding area. CCs (for community coffee) is good, as is PJ's - but PJ's is uptown on magazine ....for coffee house ambiance my husband absolutely adores Rue de la Course on Magazine with other locations throughout the city.

Always good to know where another caffein-aholic likes to buy their brew!!
