I know this was posted elsewhere - and many noted they were going to be in the city for New Year's Eve !!! (YEA !!!)

So - given that, and the fact that I have been on the couch for the week....
my early holiday present to get the FOMS started is ...

A Special Edition New Year's Eve Weekend Grid for 2008

featuring club lisings 12/30/2008-1/3/2009

Go to the Jazz Fest Grids website at http://www.jazzfestgrids.com (now c'mon y'all - I shouldn't have to put that in there.....lol)

It's the first link on the main page.

It will be updated every few days or as new information becomes available....

:)

You do that by hand, or is it a test run of the new technology?

Way cool, orleansnj! Now if you got nothing else to do and wanna extend that grid back to Dec 26, I won't complain. I could be rolling in that early but it's highly unlikely. I just wanna see Stanton Moore Trio at dba on the 26th on the grids. :)

I've been told by Big Sams manager he is playing Republic on NYE.

Also, where did you get the NYE show at Pres Hall? The Pres Hall site says closed for NYE.

Lets add Monday before New Years too, thats why I fly in :)

Did it by hand using the old grid format. New Technology still in the works.... they are kids - their favorite grade is 'incomplete' lol

All shows are from reliable sources throughout the new orleans area- not adding any other dates to the grids. These were done using html coding - so not particularly snappy to do....but fun ! Shows will change as dates get closer - saw that about preservaton hall as well - but got it from another source that is almost always right - have to call preservation hall about it later this week.

We're thinking of heading down to St. Petesburg to look at some boats. May stop over somewhere half-way there. Any Floridians know of anything good going on NYE, NYD???

We're looking at the Corbin 39's, Hans Christian, etc.. something between 39& 43 ft.... a nice sturdy cruising boat (with a large aft stateroom preferably). I think there's one in Pensacola and one in St. Petesburg were gonna try to look at over the holidays. Just sold our 32 ft. Bristol, so this is the first time in a long time we're without a boat

I'll be in town and it's been a while since I've seen them. I saw Papa Grows a few weeks ago at the Poor Boy Festival by the Maple Leaf and the set was slammin. Any thoughts? Is Galactic worth the $125 ticket?

The show is phenomenal. For an open bar, a place to hang out, and no lines - it's beyond worth it if that's the only place you plan to be that night. Downstairs is likely to be ridiculously crowded. (but worth it - no matter where you stand).
