ME TOO!!! I absolutely love him and have seen him quite a few times. He puts on one hell of a show. He'd have to tone down the swearing though but I think he can pull it off :)

Way to go Kid! He's gonna have an absolute blast during Mardi Gras :)

He'll be fun to see in the parade too cause he seems to "get it". He's in a local commercial with our handsome garbage service company owner who's a little bit of a rock star.

I read somewhere that Kid and the Garbo were driving around New Orleans and all the fan attention was for the Garbo!!! Don't know nuthin about Kid Rock but like the fact that his ego wasn't bruised by this. :D

<ahem> "Garbo" is Sidney Torres, friends to Kid Rock & Lenny Kravitz, both of whom did commercials for him.

He kinda looks like Banderas to me.

Looks like "Garbo" might be in some hot water. The City Council is demanding facts and figures from Sidney...... I must say that the Quarter hasn't been this "fresh" since Disney came to town and spruced it up for the "Hunchback" premier.

Yeah, some dimwit supervisor told a driver to dump raw sewage down a manhole in City Park after Voodoo fest. Not cool.

Something about the pairing between Kid Rock & him seems perfect - White Trash performer and a garbage collector ...:D

Definitely not cool about the raw sewage @ City Park.

Not to mention that they've been charging for exactly the same number of pick-up locations since Jan '07! Silly me. I thought people had been moving home all that time.

It was SDT with the City Park issue but they're saying it was isolated and that the employee was not authorized or something. The complaints about the incorrect billing were with the other two companies.

Ozzie...I did read something where Kid Rock was laughing about riding on the golf cart with SDT sanitation guy and all the attention was directed at SDT. Too funny.

Kids daddy owned a car dealership. While he wanna be a lot of things, straight white boy from the burbs who owes a major debt to George Clinton is what he was!

I get that people don't like him....but I thought when we don't like someone's music, we try really hard not to bash them on here because different tastes are respected? Again, we all fall short of this from time to time but there are some of us who like Kid and really enjoy his music.

He did a set a Bayfest here last October; drew one of the biggest crowds the festival has ever seen, and was actually quite entertaining.

Never before has the history of the Mardi Gras celebration been looked at this way. Errol Laborde focuses on the first 60 years of the organized celebration in New Orleans, a period that bridges the premiere parade of the Mistick Krewe of Comus and the founding of the Zulu organization. Along the way he discovers fascinating characters; including a poetic journalist who survived a bloody attack, an archduke looking for fun and a would-be king finding religion. Laborde also links an African War with Custeršs Last Stand and disproves some of the conventional wisdom about Carnivalšs early history. This is the most important contemporary book on early Carnival history. And it fun to read too.
